Post-session #3: "A new thread is given"
"A new thread is given"
The cleric of Ofidia frowned as he stared in to the pool of water. It was giving off a soft, white light, lighting up his black scaly face and the bare stone walls surrounding them. The water rippled and moved on its own, as if some invisible hand was stirring the pool.
Images appeared briefly in the pool, flashing rapidly from one messy blur of colors and sound to another before reverting back to its blank state. The cleric scratched his chin with one hand as he continued staring in to the pool, making several arcane motions with his other hand. As he motioned, the light slowly faded from the pool and the room was left in darkness. After several moments, the light sprang up again, although this time, it radiated a sickly green glow. The cleric dipped a clawed finger into the water, tracing a pattern on the surface which left an florescent green trail.
After a minute of tracing, the water bubbled and the image of another scaly humanoid swirled in to view. He looked up through the pool in the direction of the cleric, who was performing a drawn-out bow at the pool. The figure in the pool looked to be in a more advanced state of the cleric's condition. In addition to black scales and claws, yellow, reptilian eyes looked at the cleric and a pair of black dragon wings protruded out behind him.
"Blessed, I greet you," the cleric bowed towards the image, "I bring you news of a recent incident that I believe requires your attention." He folded his hands behind him, fidgeting anxiously with his claws as he waited for a response.
The image's eyes narrowed at the cleric's message. "I see. Go on, I am listening."
Clearing his throat, the cleric began to laboriously recount the recent events of terrorism in the city. The image appeared to grow bored halfway through it. "I know you didn't contact me to tell about some group who has been burning down some buildings," he interrupted, "what's really going on? Get to the point."
"Ah," the cleric started hesitantly, "well, I thought you should know that I did attempt a scrying on them - just to finish this before it went too far. What I saw was ... something I've only seen once before ... when the master was undergoing her trial. It was exactly the same pattern as before."
The image's eyes widened and looked over in to some unseen corner. "You ... are sure? This was not regular planar barriers?"
The cleric shook his head. "I am sure, I do remember clearly the reading from before. That realm leaves a very unique pattern - one I have only seen when I have attempted to view in to it before."
"I see," the winged one responded with concern, "I will inform our master immediately. If they have indeed been given their own trial, then we must ensure that their thread is not completed - not before our master has completed hers and gained the promised power." Nodding to the cleric, the image reached past the borders of the pool, grasping at some unseen object. "I will contact you once I have orders. Until then, do what you can to find them. Kill whoever holds their key - they cannot advance without it. We will stop them - for Ofidia!"

Kill whoever holds our key, eh? I'm really enjoying these session teasers.

I suppose Evala hasn't got any thread going for her, right?

Made it from a couple of other images and filters:
Zeiss, I need to talk with you about what Evala would have done. If you've got time tonight, do you mind hopping on Steam or Ventrilo to discuss that real quickly?

Currently, Evala opted out. The scaly princess asked her if she was sure she didn't want to be in control of her own fate, and Evala affirmed her initial refusal. Personally I think it would be very interesting if one of us didn't, just to see how it would affect the campaign in the future.
Apparently she thought it would be interesting to see how my personal goals play out.

Talked with Zeiss. What happened during the session is canon --no retcons needed.

I don't recall us ever picking up a "key", or anything "mystical". By the way, where did the Halfling say she was going?

I think it meant 'someone has the key to unlock their voodoo powers of awesome'.

It could also literally mean a key. It's entirely possible stuff happened we did not or could not perceive.

Well, at least they are not rings. I'd hate to be Heart, man.

The Halfling said she was going with the alchemist to meet up with General Wallace.
