The Gamers: Natural One

New Gamers content. This one takes place between Dorkness Rising and Hands of Fate.

Praise: believable story and acting which I've come to expect from Dead Gentlemen, and competency with fight sequences improved impressively
What I like: new direction, easier to do than a high fantasy setting in terms of props, setting and cost. Shadowrun.
What I dislike: steering further away from the plot of Dorkness Rising. Shadowrun game consists of disappointingly thin premise: "get the thing, get paid", with seemingly no sign of thickening.
Overall: enjoyable, might watch again if mood strikes; however, fruition of the next big project will push it to the shadowy corners of my mind.
Here's my impression, which I left in a comment on the last video.

- It's difficult to understand exactly what's going on with the hand, with the samurai's final attack(magic? Didn't see it), basically what normally might be hidden to the naked eye. In order for viewers to "get" it, you have to show them an interpretation of what's happening, exactly like what you did with the funky handheld technology and the uplink. Also, kind of weird to see the hacker looking normal in cyberspace, basically his meat puppet, while the security guard had a "hologram" look. Also, the whole whiteness of the background was jarring, something black with green spectrum would have been easy on the eyes and not an opaque feel to it. The Ork/Troll was...well, not presented as such, so it was hard to tell if he was supposed to be as big as he was.
Basically this was like the first pitch of a Shadowrun movie, but didn't suck! Congrats! You could have used the "Natural One" character as a catalyst for exposition, even to people who are already familiar with the system. Add in some special affects post-production and tweak the Ork/Troll and give the team hacker a "hologram" look, and the short movie would have been more enjoyable, and personally I wouldn't have felt like I had to nudge my own suspension and excitement a little.

I just shut down my brain when I watched it, because god knows I needed all the entertainment I could squeeze from it.

Excuse the double post + unrelated note, but I've just learned that Homestuck is un-gigapausing itself soonish. Yay, maybe I'll be able to see the end of Homestuck during this lifetime!

Well I had been awake for more than 24 hours with just a 3 hour nap to keep me going, so getting into it might have been a little difficult. Also I do not like the color white in web colors. It has its place, but it can get overwhelming sometimes, and my eyes were already rubbed and rerubbed just to keep from hurting. I think I was fair, though.
