Dake, Korra, and Ominae
"Mad Hatter: "Why is a raven like a writing-desk?"
"Have you guessed the riddle yet?" The Hatter said, turning to Alice again.
"No, I give it up," Alice replied, "What's the answer?"
"I haven't the slightest idea," said the Hatter."
-Alice in Wonderland
Last time we left our heroes they had been split into two parties. This thread picks up the tale of Dake, Korra, and Ominae who have found themselves in a strange, overgrown garden attending a very bizarre picnic. Three large, rectangular picnic tables have been shoved together to form one large, continuous table. The left side and middle sections are dominated by 8 clones, who all have their helmets off and are eating and making merry with true gusto. Their weapons have been put aside but even in their revelry the carbines remain within easy reach and their pistols remain in their holsters.*
The right table holds two figures: A smiling and carefree Ian Cameron and a dark and brooding Aro Hanterim. The droid is the worse for wear, with missing patches of his synthetic skin revealing the machine beneath.
"Ah, it's you lot. I was wondering when you would get here," says the droid with more than a bit indignation.
"Quite right," adds Ian with a friendly grin, "We saved some potato salad for you."
"Shut up, idiot. They aren't here to eat," commands an angry Aro.
"Careful now, you could hurt my feelings talking like that," Ian replies with a stupid chuckle.
Faster than the eye can see Aro is holding a pistol to Ian's temple and pulling the trigger, executing the grinning Moff on the spot. The now headless, smoking body falls back to the ground and with a wicked grin Aro sets the smoking blaster down onto the table. Without missing a beat he continues, "You see what I have to deal with? Do you see what I'm forced to do? How do I get myself into these situations?"
*Note: The movie storm troopers typically did not carry sidearms unless they were their only weapons. I'm changing that because it is stupid. So in our universe the professional soldiers of the Empire all carry sidearms. Just thought I should let you guys know.

Re: Dake, Korra, and Ominae
Someone's head getting blown off might've made him gasp before, but Ominae's witnessed that happen a lot to people he actually cared for, to a degree he hadn't even rightly imagined, just over a week ago. Though it surprised him how desensitized he'd actually become, right now there were more of those lives at stake, both near and far.

Dake witnessed the scene in silence, like if he was watching an holo-vid. Aro's execution of the Moff surprised him but he wasn't shocked by it. As a smuggler thriving in the underworld, he had already seen that kind of execution more than once. Still, he seemed worried. He leaned towards Ominae and whispered to him :
"Let's try to be polite to our host here. Regardless of any prejudices we might have..."

And I like those quotes by the way Kolson. Wonder how they fit with this scene though.

- Were i to hazard a guess, Zeiss, i'd say the quote is alluding as to how maybe we should perceive these characters more as manifestations of Ria's broken psyche rather than the actual characters themselves. I mean, i don't care how much of an inscrutable psycho Aro is, he wouldn't just up and execute Ian over nothing.
Going by what we saw earlier, if kid Ria was able to achieve that degree of clairvoyance almost without trying, it's a good bet she drew these characters from our memories while we were unconscious. It might also hint at the damaging effect such a heightened power would have had on her mind. If she had the ability to meditate that deeply on a regular basis, she would have been totally unprepared as a child to deal with the inflow of knowledge, as it would've eventually overwhelmed her. It becomes less of an ability, and more of a debilitating condition that you have to manage.
Back at the illusion last time, Yoda himself had to break a sweat just to penetrate her thoughts, and inside she was all battered and beaten. If that had been happening on a regular basis since then, it's little wonder the Jedi ended up sealing her here. All the torment and anguish she would've been through would've certainly scarred her beyond admission into the Jedi order, and worse, it would've created a huge affinity with the Dark Side.
No wonder Palpatine wants her. If he had access to this kind of power, his reach would be near-limitless. Poor Ria can barely control herself, she wouldn't stand a chance against Palpatine's mastery of the Dark Side. He'd seize her mind and make her his puppet, and then no one would be able to hide from him. He'd be able to crush his enemies wherever they hid, before even they knew there were there.
Going by the scene in front of us right now, Ria seems rather self-destructive. At the very least, she's just killed the character that seemed the most mentally stable. We need to tread lightly if we're to have a chance at helping her.
Kolson, i'm searching the Force for any further insight into this (or to see if i'm just totally wrong).

- Ominae feels that he is on the right track but also feels like he is missing a few essential details.
"You are trapped here in this world of lies, just like me. Stuck with insipid copies of the real people, stuck carrying out their programming like a mere service droid." His words practically drip with venom. He hates this situation. "They don't even have the decency to stay dead, the stupid sods. Case in point."
The headless corpse of Ian Cameron suddenly sits back up and begins standing again. A new head pops out of the neck, not unlike a cork from a wine bottle including a loud pop. "Oh, potato salad!"
Ian sits back at the table and begins eating again.
Aro sighs. "If this is what it's like to be alive in the biological sense thank the maker I won't have to put up with this much longer."

- Aro is an advanced replicant droid, K. He blinks his eyes, eats, breathes, and has a pulse. There is a reason why people thought he was real.
"Hello everyone. Why don't you join us. The potato salad is really go-HEADSPLOSION!" Ian goes down again, minus another head.
Aro puts the blaster down again and continues, "Well, yes. I'm here to rescue you. I am a kind of hypnotic suggestion, a program if you will, sent to get you out of this shadow realm. You can call me RO-86."

Dake did seem shocked to the Moff's "resurrection". But the second time Aro shot him, he could only show disgust. Trying not to appear too affected by it, he simply said :
"So... by who have you been sent exactly?"

You do get the feeling there is more to the story than what he is telling you. That is, assuming the story he is telling you is true at all. To determine that, I suggest you both, K and Zeiss, make Perception checks to see.

- Alright, besides the perception check on him and the surroundings, i want to check Kinetic Communication on Aro and the rest of the attendees. I know Aro is a droid, but if he's part of Ria's psyche, or at least somehow connected to it (in either case, i very much doubt we're looking at the genuine article here), something might bleed off of him that'll give me a hint.

As far as you guys can tell, he is telling the truth about what he has said. As for what he hasn't said...well, you might try asking about that. Without more information, it's impossible to determine one way or another what he might be holding back.
@K It's a subtle thing, but thanks to your training in Kinnetic Communication you can see that the stormtroopers and Ian all move the same. Not exactly, like the manikins in an animatronic puppet show, but like they are all the same person pretending to be different. The only one who moves like its own thing is RO-86.
Stretching out with the Force you realize just how small the area really is. It feels like you guys are inside a dome of Light Side energy, with a storm of Dark Side energy trying to push its way in. The strongest concentration is from the middle of the overgrown garden. When you walked here on the path, the path itself literally took you around it.
Thanks to the sameness data, you detect the troopers and Ian as facades for something else, though you sense no ill intent from them. RO feels both like a droid and something familiar. Kind of like looking in a mirror except instead of seeing your own reflection you see a creep-tacular droid spy instead.

- One could almost think of it as the last refuge of sanity, in a mind that's being assaulted by madness. If so, the center of it is likely where i want to go if i want to help Ria out. Then again, i may also need to do something for this one-person foursome at the table.
Now, i don't know how often i can UtF to search my feelings on things like this. It'd be nice to have a bit of Force backup on this idea, but if i can't use it yet, that's ok too (UtF +10, just in case).
Now, to be really really clear about my next action, i'm not aquiescing to his offer in the slightest. Just trying to get as much info out of him as i can before i decide on my move.
Also, does RO-86 mimic my body language at all when i talk?
"And how exactly would you be saving us?"
- ooc:
- Also, ready action to stop RO from blowing anyone's head off if he tries it again. Nothing dramatic, just grab the blaster off his hand. Use Surge if need be. (Would it work on any similar principle to my Deflect ability?)

"This isn't real. Not in the material sense. Ria's not just an incredibly powerful clairvoyant, she can reach out and affect our minds as well. What we're standing in right now is probably the last bit of sanity she has, and she must be hanging on to it pretty desperately. This whole area you're seeing is much smaller than it actually looks, and the Dark Side is raging pretty badly right outside. I'd say it was probably inflicted on her through the uncontrolled farsight she's had ever since she was a kid."

*Ominae looks at Dake with a mix of understanding and that not-quite-dismissal, but sort of certainty of what he wants to do that kinda overrules the sentiment expressed by his companion. He turns slightly to better face him.
"I want to do right by you too, Dake, but what's happening here right now can't be dealt in the manner that you normally would, and that may involve doing things you'll think are foolish or reckless."
*He looks like he wants to say more, but the words fail him, so he just turns his concentration back to the situation at hand.

What do you say, Ria? What do you say, Ria? WHAT. DO. YOU. SAY. RIA.
Ominae's question echoes throughout the garden, growing and growing in volume. It is so loud that everyone, facade character and the party, puts hands to their ears. Those standing struggle to remain so. Those sitting struggle not to fall from the benches. The brightly shining sun, the perfect blue sky, the wild plants of the garden, and the fake stormtroopers and fake Ian all blow away; destroyed in the cacophony of Ominae's question.
"Please stop! Please stop!" shouts Korra through pain filled tears. And just like that. The sound stops.
With the old "reality" stripped away, Dake, Ominae, Korra, and RO find themselves floating in a semi-solid white mist surrounded by a dome of translucent green energy. A great storm rages just outside, continually throwing itself against the dome. At the center a great white light burns. It is almost too bright to look at.
What do you guys do?

"It's okay, Ominae," says Korra with a grin. "At least we seem to be making some progress now. Let's do whatever we can to help her."
After Dake answers: RO-86 shrugs. "Help The Dreamer, kill The Dreamer; What do I care? It's all the same to me so long as you leave. Speaking of which, if you are done prattling amongst yourselves why don't we get on with it?"
"Could you be anymore obnoxious?" interjects Korra.
Without missing a beat 86 responds, "Sure. I could float around and ask stupid questions instead of focusing on the problem at hand. Oh wait, that's your job. Mine is to actually get us out of here."
With a bemused, razor-thin smirk Korra fires back, "Really? I thought your job was to be a scruffy-looking, second-rate quip machine who enjoys wasting time and embarrassing himself against a professional diplomat. My mistake. Now either get on with it or get the hell out of our way; we have a Jedi to save."
With an ironic bow, 86 concedes defeat to Korra. For now. "I was made to help you navigate and travel through the mind of The Dreamer. The mind is made up of many layers starting with the conscious, proceeding through the unconscious, and ending deep in the id. However, I can't do that until your group manages to escape this dome. How you do so is up to you."

Kolson, i used what i think to be strictly in-character knowledge to make the connection i just made (though my OOC knowledge did strengthen it, i won't deny that). If you disagree, i'll likewise edit my post accordingly. Normally, i'd ask for your approval first, but that back and forth would likely take at least another 8 hours, so i thought i'd take the risk.

The obvious way out would be trying to go past this barrier, but i don't think that'd be all that wise. I'm more interested in the light at the center over there. What i'm worried about is what it'll do to us, especially you two, who aren't f--"

"There's something i'd like to know, and i think this is probably the time."
