Welcome back home - Page 4 Empty Re: Welcome back home

Post by Zeiss Sun Jan 25, 2015 1:34 pm

It was back when we were playing on Ventrilo.

After our memory had been wiped, we had to take Fierneceal to the Fire Temple to heal her soul. Snarg and I took an Order airship with Fierneceal and just as we were leaving, I threw the Leycite to Higaide. I wanted to change my mind, but because I had fought so hard to get on that airship, Arch was like: "Nope, it's in Higaide's possession now." I guess it's been sitting in his pocket for all this time.

So he's the last person who had it in his possession. If we still have it... now is an excellent time to sell it.

How about it Arch? Smile

Oh yeah, i remember now. I had to be the better man because of the ship's weight limit, and YOU wouldn't get off. And then you didn't even take the damn fire trial!  scratch

Ahem...

Seriously, though, i get wanting to sell it, and we could certainly use the money, but it seems like kind of a waste to do that after all this time. Kinda feel like the practical use of it would be better in the long run.

I'm usually a sell-nothing RPG player, though, so my perspective may be skewed.

Well, I had to leave for work (I was doing the night shift) and Arch skipped over that. I thought it would be selfish to just be like: "Hey, can we do this thing that takes a lot of planning from you? Before the next session?"

Meh, wouldn't have been a good time for trialing anyway, with all that was going on.

Well, the clock IS ticking, and if we take too much time to get the Exchange back up into shape, we might as well just run away like Bonebreaker did, because it's not going to be pretty. That said, we could find out if refining the leycite before selling it can raise our profit. I have some 1.7k gold on my character that could help.

That, or we could hold onto the leycite and sell Higs to slavery instead. Hrm... choices...

How about we just give it to Kolson for his personal Soul Mirror project? He's the Weaver, after all. And it is like super juice for Weaving, so why not reserve it specifically for Weaving purposes? Think about it. When will we ever encounter more of this rare item very specific to making Weaving super easy and just way better? If we can earn good money without losing anything we don't keep around specifically for adventuring risks and hazards, we should do that instead.

By the way K, did Higaide fail his Light trial?

If we have a good use for it that doesn't involve consuming it, i'm all for that. I think that's the best option of all, actually.

Selling it raises too many problems of it's own.

Still, precaution. We should probably see to it that it's properly secured before it's used for weaving. We don't want prying eyes catching a glimpse of that thing.

EDIT: I don't know how Weaving works, but couldn't we actually turn some kinda profit off of Weaving with it? The way the economy is now, if we can weave items over +4 with the Leycite, they should catch a pretty good price. Unless there are limited weaves per level or something like that, but then, how do the pro weavers do it?

There is actually a finite number of Weaves a Weaver can do, something I imagine Kolson picked up on a while ago and is a critical aspect of Weaving (namely the fact that is it not infinite).

Let's do some rolls.

Kolson's weaving +23 and Zeiss' knowledge engineering +12. Can we use the Leycite to replace CXP? Could it make weaving above +4 items easier? And would we get more money by selling it if we refined it beforehand?

Even though it would probably cost us a fortune to get a weaver powerful enough to do that.

So, in setting, once a weaver has done a certain number, he can never weave again for the rest of his life? That's kind of a bummer.

I...agree. By now, Kreeg probably has relatively few or none art pieces left to create before he is officially, biologically a retired and accomplished weaving 3-4D artist.

I don't remember. Who was Kreeg? The name sounds familiar.

Oh, and I edited my last post. K should read it.

Yeah, it sucks but what can you do other than go full villain and find some way to suck more out of others no matter the cost and that would be messed up.

But on the matter of the Leycite we are better off selling it. We need the money if we are going to really do something with the Exchange. No ifs, ands, or buts about it.

Alright, let's sell it to Lady Lightmane for the glory of the Aluvian kingdom.

"It occurs to you", both my least and most favorite thing to hear a GM say.

Damn, now I'm sad. Sad

No military training scene.

As for the Leycite, I'll start looking into this.

I didn't say you couldn't have the scene, was just pointing out what Rory would know in character.

On the matter of the relief effort thing, do we have any specific people in mind at the moment? Or is it that with the war on, there's no shortage of people in need of help right now?

Well there were two ways Rory could have gone with the training: worse than his father got with him, or the opposite, patient and kind.

Also, by trading my bow I mean getting a discount, like when you trade in an older TV for a discount on something bigger and better.

Or we could recruit people who know about that kind of thing. I'm pretty sure i've no idea how to run a humanitarian aid effort by myself.
