After some hilariously failed rolls, Higaide tackles Zeiss directly into a wall, smacking them both in the heads and dazing them for a round.
Rory, cursing under his breath, lunges with them to help pick both up, literally hoisting them each over his shoulder and turning, aggravated, towards the alleyway only to see the horrifying creature was now directly in front of the trio. It lowers a long, bladed claw down which has several attached digits that currently are wrapped around a thick rope. A glance confirms that the rope itself is tied tightly around several bundles of parchment. The nightmare creature hovers there, silently, with the parchments held out for Rory and says in quiet, broken Common, "This for you Rory Human."

While Zeiss is groaning for help, Advoc will examine the creature so he can make a portrait of it later on.

Advoc can tell that there are probably Elements involved in this creature. As for accent, none that it can determine.

Rory stared on with fear, suddenly faced with the object of his dread. This lessened at it's gesture of digits and claws, accompanied by an equal measure of repulsion. He shrugged off whatever support he lent to holding up Higaide and Zeiss, and after a minor, deliberate pause, he took the bundles in both hands.
"Do I even want this?" he asked the torrent of claws and spikes, as he eyed it up to assign it a noun most fitting for its vague shape.

The mess of odd geometry in the form of spikes, claws, and eyes buzzes away in utter silence with no further comment, leaving Rory holding the bundle of parchment. Zeiss and Higaide are both on the ground, having been dumped there unceremoniously, and both nursing headaches.

A few tense moments pass in otherwise uninterrupted silence before one of the Human recruits, which recognizes the trio, comes stumbling through heading towards the Veil entrance, clearly drunk off his gourd. He gives some semblance of salute at the sight of the three but otherwise moves unimpeded.

Greetings and salutations my friend, and forgive me for being so informal. I regret to say that I have somehow forgotten your given/clan name. Do humans use such things? I seem to recall that neither Higaide nor Fiernaceal used them.
My comrades in Central are indeed aware of my location; in fact it was they who applied me to my current post aboard the Sperca. In fact it may or may not be due to this very post and some rather nefarious methods, that I was able to covertly obtain your current location for the purposes of delivering this missive… ahem…
I am afraid it is rather impossible to ‘return’ the Sperca to you. The very nature of its existence means that none among you would be capable of piloting it no matter how experienced you were in airship technology. While I’ve no doubt if you wished to sell her, she would fetch a hefty sum, allowing her to fall into the hands of any of these foolishly warring governments is something that simply cannot be allowed. And I respectfully refuse to aid you in any endeavor to reclaim her as your own. In regards to your continued belief that we Olthoi foster “ulterior motives;” I still cannot fathom as to where this belief came from. We simply want to keep this pristine vessel out of the hands of those with ill intent, while still making use of and studying its impressive engineering feats. If by ulterior motive you mean that we are also utilizing it to study other realms and to feed the victims of this war, then yes you are correct we have these motives. But I feel that we have been completely upfront with our intentions from the moment we announced them.
I do understand the concept of being capable of killing with no feelings of regret, remorse, or guilt. I believe that this is called Sociopathology, a person whose behavior is often criminal and who is defined by a lack of moral responsibility or social conscience. I find the concept troubling, and doubt seriously that even for such heinous people as you seem to believe these are that you would fit in that category.
In regards to your endeavors to move the continuing stream of refugees Southward to Osteth, I believe this thought has some merit. From what I hear the Osteth has opened its gates to any and all who will come. The only issue I foresee is, with the closing of the HUB and railways, these already battered and beaten people will have to traverse the distance on foot through the middle of the heaviest fighting. However, I believe the Olthoi may be able to help with the negotiations to receive additional refugees; I will speak with my elders on the matter. I also do not believe that Central, while my home is very beloved to me, would be a very hospitable place for humans to live for any amount of time. Our halls are not built for people of such few limbs and so lacking in dexterity.
I was unaware of our friend Z no longer being with you. I will as you say “keep an eye out for her;” though she does have a rather amusing habit of popping in at the most appropriate of times. When I see her next I will pass the message along to her that you wish to speak with her.

I came across the most curious of information quite recently and wanted to consult with you on its validity. Do humans burn the dead remains of their comrades? What purpose does this serve? Is it for worship or born of a belief that through burning the remains the person might return to the elements? What other methods of burial do humans use?

I know your time is precious as you are reestablishing yourselves in Holtburg, but know that I am thinking of you. In addition, I was unable to find Sareth at his previously known location, or I would have sent this missive there. When viewing the area something struck me as not quite right. I fear something is amiss and he may have come to harm. There were traces of an altercation, though small. He normally kept the small cat shaped doll Z had entrusted him to return to you on his person at all times, but it was left floundering in a sink full of water and appears to have been there for several days. Perhaps you should go check into this?

ArchengeiaAlong the way Zeiss was able to divine her true identity, due to her sharing it via irrefutable proof; it was Z, though obviously in yet another of her disguises, as she appeared completely different than before.

Going to send Mevrak, the Mosswart thief I hired, to keep under surveillance the place Sareth was Exited to.
While he sleeps, Zeiss will have Advoc guard our headquarters and prepare an escape route through the Veil just in case soldiers come to arrest the party.
