Zeiss gets less actions today because he needs mental rest. GM glares at Zeiss, daring him to contest this.

Also content to not really move this forward until Kolson finishes sparring with the Lady Hammersmith.

She's a fun dueling partner and an interesting character. My complements to the GM.

Cleanup day

Zeiss' stats

• Sleeps for 5 hours thanks to his magical ring.
• Use 1 hour to take care of bodily functions and shower himself.
• Take 6 hours to relax.
• 10 hours remaining.
• I will use my actions in an order of priority, from top to bottom. If I don't have enough time, I'll just use another day to complete the remaining actions.
• Colors: blue is for the "other guy". Green is for the same action.

Actions (Zeiss)

• To relax, Zeiss will have to use his bracelet of concealment ( 6/10 charges; 1d4 hours - Changes hair, facial structure, and voice). He will create a new identity: Connor of Whitemoon. He's an adventurer who decided to settle down in Holtburg after he was paid handsomely for one last Bill. He's an elf with a plain appearance (short dark hair).
• Zeiss will change his clothing for something simple, and sneak out of the Veil (I have escape routes ready after all). Connor will then look for the cheapest apartment he can rent, but which still provides decent comfort. He will also use this time to walk around the city, and take in the sights, which is something he has never done before. Have some food, take a walk in the park. Whatever picks his interest.
• Once Connor is back to being Zeiss, he, Advoc, Sareth and Kolson will have the Blades and my personal guard imprison all of our spies. We'll trick them one group at a time into a large room for a regular meeting, then cut off all escape routes. The 1/4 of those not working for other organizations will be treated like guests, and paid for their time in isolation. We'll explain it's only to prevent any leak of information. The 3/4 remaining spies will be treated like prisoners of wars, in accordance with the Dericost Accords. No harm must come to them, and let's not get rough. None of them will know how the others are treated.
• Once they're all in their respective cells, we'll explain the deal: we are offering 500 gold pieces to the spies who provide information on their employers. If only one person tells us what we want to know, he or she gets all the money. If all of our spies tell us what we want to know, they all get the money, divided equally. It's the truth.
• The 3/4 of our spies who are working for other organizations will be told another thing in addition of what I just wrote: if they don't talk at all, we'll give all the information we gathered on them to all the companies and important organizations in Aluvia, along with a sketch of their appearance. Then, we'll do the same thing in Osteth, Sho and Naverre, since I have access to the Hub. They'll never be able to work for anyone else, ever.
• If the spies from this 3/4 group wish to complain to HR about this unfair treatment, they will be told one simple thing: they're not our employees, since they're already spying for another organization.
• Me and my personal guard go find that broker who bought information about Zeiss' father. I want to know who he sold the information to. If nothing comes to mind, we'll ask him if [people who fit the description of my spies] did it. Bribe him if necessary. If it leads to another agent, we follow the trail. If the broker doesn't reveal anything, we leave him and act like I got what I wanted. Then wait until someone comes to meet the broker, then we follow the trail.
• Ask Tollar of Anvilmar how I can get into the unnamed network. What prerequisites do I need to fulfill?

Actions (delegated by Zeiss)

• Have we found a building where we can set up shop for the Blades front office? Or a company we can buy to take care of that? If not, get Visas on it.
• Superintendent Visas of Wolfrunner (Middlers): work with Qui-Gon to determine which resources the Warlords of the Holtburg province own, what they wish to buy, and what trade routes they use. We'll connect the Blocks to each other without their knowledge. Example: Block A wants 1 Food. Block B wants to sell 1 Food. Block C offers caravan protection for goods shipping. We hire Block C to ship the Food we bought from Block B, which we sell to Block A. We'll use secondary agents, coordinated by Middlers, to set this up. I've already done a lot of set up these past weeks for this exact purpose, so we should only need the info.
• Superintendent Bail of Feeder (relief efforts): reorganize our Relief agents. I feel like this is a mess right now. Get to know your people.
• Superintendent Qui-Gon (Politics): keep gathering info on the list of people I want to know about.
• Superintendent Dulvi (Mite accountant): You're settling in all right?
• Superintendent Sareth (Intelligence): hire trainers who could teach how to become an efficient and professional spy. These trainers won't work as spies for us, and they don't need to be spies themselves. Only to have the right skills. You can use the Headhunter Task Force.
• Superintendent Sareth (Intelligence): keep an eye on my managers to see who suddenly acts differently now that the spies are all locked up. Especially the elf who uses a lot of charts and notes, and applied for the post of Superintendent. He might have less notes to pass around. If one manager is really suspicious, we'll have a nice chat with them... which means don't let them go anywhere.

Kolson (actions)

• What the GM wrote: "Kolson rolls average on Weaving the Silence room, and it's a fairly complicated Weave to do... he succeeds, but it will either cost him a whopping 3 CXP as a baseline.  He can spend a few more CXP to add additional features, like controlling duration of the Silence, giving it multiple charges per day, or acting as a magical barrier for Scans and the like as well."
• He will do it, and spend the CXP necessary to have multiple charges per day and a magical barrier for Scans and the like.
• Prepare for the expedition to Marae Lassel. Supplies, inspection of the ships, etc.
• As an alternative, can we find an airship instead which we could use in exchange of a Favor? Ask Tollar of Anvilmar for his counsel since he is a partner of the Exchange, and ordered anyway by Lady Hammersmith to help us. He's part of the secret network after all. And no, the General cannot tell anyone about this island (though we doubt he needs to be reminded).

Connor of Whitemoon finds that residences are pretty hard to come by, with the massive influx of refugees, but still finds some room in the poorer areas near the Warehouse District. He also finds out, though this might be old news, that the Holtburg Wall has been slowly expanding the last few weeks. Holtburg is, of course, a massive city, but even in the local area he finds on foot he sees sights he's never seen before. A Weaving store run by a local Dwarven couple that specialize in extremely mundane items, like magically scented soap, toilet paper designed to be softer, blankets that warm up periodically, cups that can temporarily cool the drinks in them, and the like. An eatery that's selling touted "Naverre Cuisine", claiming to offer roasted Armillo Steaks, sand-baked Carenzi giblets with piked fruit and bubbled coconut juice, and the like. He also finds a local game store, which primarily caters to people wanting a local place to gather for playing board games and the like. People rent it out for relatively cheap and usually cater from nearby restaurants to get food for the players. All the classics are present... Shadows Over Shoushi, Diplomacy, Settlers of Orath, and of course the more recent Woven sensation Magic the Gathering, a board game combined with a card game where the cards have fanciful effects and visual flash to their movements.

*rubs eyes* Zeiss is aware, in character, that this is going to really piss off a lot of people if he does this. Giving him a chance to reconsider.

Zeiss has no problems finding the information broker in question. What method, if any, will Zeiss use to try and coerce them into giving up information on their buyers?

Tollar of Anvilmar claims ignorance. And he is lying.

Actions (delegated by Zeiss)

• Have we found a building where we can set up shop for the Blades front office? Or a company we can buy to take care of that? If not, get Visas on it.
Visas takes over this job. Right now, as previously mentioned, real estate is becoming a bit of a rare commodity.
I've already done a lot of set up these past weeks for this exact purpose, so we should only need the info.
We'll start gathering information on this now. With transportation as incredibly slow as it is right now, this will take at least a week to gather full reconnaissance of the area.
• Superintendent Bail of Feeder (relief efforts): reorganize our Relief agents. I feel like this is a mess right now. Get to know your people.
It is, in fact, a complete mess. It seems the group that Higaide had working with/for him has basically abandoned the Exchange, and while there is word of where they went, no information on where they are now or what they're doing, leaving the efforts back at square 1.
• Superintendent Qui-Gon (Politics): keep gathering info on the list of people I want to know about.
I'm going to go ahead and put together a dossier in real life on some individuals. It's going to take a while, so it's going to take a while in-character too.
• Superintendent Dulvi (Mite accountant): You're settling in all right?
She is crunching all of the numbers.
• Superintendent Sareth (Intelligence): hire trainers who could teach how to become an efficient and professional spy. These trainers won't work as spies for us, and they don't need to be spies themselves. Only to have the right skills. You can use the Headhunter Task Force.
Sareth begins looking into this. Does Sareth have Hub access? The GM does not recall.
(assuming you go ahead with the spy imprisoning) A little over three-fourths of the managers working for the Exchange begin acting more nervously. A few quit outright. Rumors begin flying at record pace.

Good rolls, 1 additional CXP for the charges per day anti-Scan Barrier, and 1 CXP for the Silence barrier.
• Prepare for the expedition to Marae Lassel. Supplies, inspection of the ships, etc.
After some rolls, Kolson estimates this could be hurried to happen within 3 days if rushed. Normally it would take closer to 5.
Getting a small, private Airship might be doable, the General says. Something that could carry a handful of people. Getting anything Destroyer and up is simply not going to happen; all commercial Airship traffic has been nationalized for supplies and troop transports, and all military Airships are active. If the Exchange wants him to look into this he can and will.

Just going to roll diplomacy (also use one charge of Persuasion), and offer him X amount of gold if he still reticent. If he still doesn't want to give me the info, use Intimidate and tell him I'm Zeiss of Dreamkeeper, the son of the man he sold information about.

The Wall has expanded; can we just find a place and build a customized front? We can also use this as a launching point and plan to build a new district, and expand the Veil through it.
• Superintendent Visas of Wolfrunner (Middlers): work with Qui-Gon to determine which resources the Warlords of the Holtburg province own, what they wish to buy, and what trade routes they use. Well, start by hiring new Relief managers. Reliable managers. Once this is set up, they'll find us Relief agents.

• Superintendent Qui-Gon (Politics): keep gathering info on the list of people I want to know about.
I'm going to go ahead and put together a dossier in real life on some individuals.  It's going to take a while, so it's going to take a while in-character too.
Oh wow. I didn't expect that. Thank you.

• Superintendent Dulvi (Mite accountant): You're settling in all right?
She is crunching all of the numbers.
I will ask Gloria of Mangler, my new butler, to check up on Dulvi once in a while to make sure she has everything she needs. I have the feeling my accountant would just get lost into her numbers and forget about her well-being.

• Superintendent Sareth (Intelligence): hire trainers who could teach how to become an efficient and professional spy. These trainers won't work as spies for us, and they don't need to be spies themselves. Only to have the right skills. You can use the Headhunter Task Force.

Not going ahead with my evil plan. Still observing my managers though. Especially those who were working for the Exchange since we came back from the Sho Empire.

Kolson (actions)

Duly noted.

• Prepare for the expedition to Marae Lassel. Supplies, inspection of the ships, etc.
After some rolls, Kolson estimates this could be hurried to happen within 3 days if rushed.  Normally it would take closer to 5.
Well, good. 3 days it is.

It's always useful to have an airship. So yeah, go ahead Tollar of Anvillmar. Just make sure the Favor we are asked to fulfill isn't unreasonable.

Apparently there's this new type of card they're really pushing in MTG right now called an Artifact.  It's not actually part of the other forms of mana, and is apparently quite powerful, though rare.  'Connor' doesn't get one of those though, he gets a Black deck.
*sighs* I guess I won't do it... yet. Instead, Zeiss will use his bracelet of concealment and infiltrate the spies. He wants to see where the information flows, and who's pulling the strings. Zeiss spends a few hours amongst the spies, though doesn't learn much of value other than the fact that somewhere in the range of about a hundred different organizations, groups, companies, and individuals buy information from Exchange agents.
Just going to roll diplomacy (also use one charge of Persuasion), and offer him X amount of gold if he still reticent. If he still doesn't want to give me the info, use Intimidate and tell him I'm Zeiss of Dreamkeeper, the son of the man he sold information about.
He will, of course, insist on gold, though he asks for a 'lot' of gold... about 5 or so.  Once paid, he will freely give up the names (plural) of the three people who specifically bought information about Zeiss' father.  All three names are people who reside within Holtburg.
The Wall has expanded; can we just find a place and build a customized front? We can also use this as a launching point and plan to build a new district, and expand the Veil through it.
This will take money, but this is entirely feasible.  The time to do so would be now (by which I mean the next day really)
Sareth will be gone the next several days scouring the other Nations for intelligence trainers, since there are none available here in Aluvia.
It's always useful to have an airship. So yeah, go ahead Tollar of Anvillmar. Just make sure the Favor we are asked to fulfill isn't unreasonable.
