Konrad puffs his pipe long and slow. Straight to business faster than a man can think, then? There is no pretense with you, is there? Not so much as a 'hello, we need to talk'?
"Hi to you too." He puts the pipe down. "What do you mean?"

"This mission meant nothing to me. This ship gave me nothing but grief, and then tried to steal what i hold most dear. And with you being the heart of the ship, i couldn't forgive you either. But i can't hold you responsible for that. And i did, and i apologize."

Interesting. A ship is a ship. 'Steal what he holds dear'? What does he mean? "It relieves me to hear you say that, Mihai. We definitely do not need the tension going forward where we are now. Apology accepted."
"We're mercenaries. Sometimes our jobs will take us places we don't want to go." He leans forward, placing his elbows on the table, and makes a bridge with his hands for his chin to rest on. "Tell me what vexes you. I always have sympathy to spare for my fellow man."

Re: 2nd adventure: Proxy War
Mihai considers. Then...
"No offense, but that interrogation back there was completely mishandled. First you accommodated him, then you asked questions you already knew the answer to, wasting your shots to get what you really wanted. You also talked too much to him, allowed him to get a read on you while he was mostly inscrutable the entire time. When your target can get into your head instead of the other way around, you've already lost."
He pauses, for emphasis.
"Besides, the more you start resorting to pain, the less reliable your information becomes. The target will start to say anything just to get a reprieve while you confirm, and in that case back there, he could have told you Kira had gone to Lorinth and you'd have had no way to confirm it in time. The only place you should ever have to break your target is in his head. Not just to avoid causing unnecessary harm, but to ensure you get the results you want."

Re: 2nd adventure: Proxy War
Konrad drums his fingers on the table, patiently, keeping time. Cordiality and patience in the wake of his spoiled temper. He stands up and leans against a counter beneath a cabinet behind him. No, not going to talk about it, apparently. Just going to give me a critique, very well.
"I disagree. I knew exactly what I was doing. Carrot before stick, as they say. I was just giving the stick a wind-up. Be polite, offer a hope spot, and you'll find the stick hits harder than it would have otherwise. Methinks you would have heard that for yourself if you listened through the door... But as I said earlier, we should both be thankful Breeze was able to find dirt on him as quick as she managed. So you see, not my preferred method for the reason stated, but above it I am not. Now, I knew the answer, sure, but did he? I had to decide how we were going to play this first. Maybe he knew nothing about her."
"He might have opened up about that without you dragging your knuckles right behind him." His voice turns sour when he offers his own criticism. "Perhaps my mistake was leading with that pretense; it gave him a chance to make our job harder, and stall for time. I'll grant that one. Probably should have just dropped her name and called her a pirate in front of him to see how he reacted."
"Knowledgeable about the subject, are you? One wonders how. Feel like sharing?"

"Sorry, but that's not something i'm fond of dwelling on. I'll just say i've seen both approaches, and learned mine so i'd never have to use yours. If you don't want it, that's fine. Honestly, i never want to have to go into that again, one way or the other, so i'll happily leave the room next time and leave you to it."
He pauses for a second, then adds.
"I know you want me to talk about something else, and it probably frustrates you that i don't. I'm sorry for that. Maybe some other time, when we're not so serious, and about to take our lives into our hands."

"I understand. I have the utmost respect for a friend's will to keep personal matters private, as you avoid laying blame where it's undeserved. I don't know what the Barracuda could have to you, but she's just a ship, mate," he chuckles.

Mihai pauses for a second at that one.
"Yeah. Maybe." - he muses absentmindedly - "Either way, Captain, if you don't mind, i have preparations to make. All this salt water means i have to care for my gear twice as hard."

Re: 2nd adventure: Proxy War
- Steve and Zelk:
Steve is sitting at the small table, putting serious efforts into writing this poem for Fedler, with Breeze flying over his shoulder, supervising the work, They're both humming a song called "Singin' in the Rain". Zelk passes by the galley's door, disappears, then backs up to look at both of them.
Steve will motion her over. "If you are going to keep walking by our door just come in already!"
Breeze waves at Zelk, a big smile stuck on the little fairy's face. "Yeah! Come join us!"
The lieutenant is even more suspicious now. "What are the two of you planning now?"
"A panty raid, of course,” replies Steve. “I've craftily hid my nefarious plans within this poem for my friend, Fedler. Can anyone named Zelk possibly stop us?" He makes an exaggerated "Can she?" face. "What do you think, Blue?"
The fairy crosses her arms, closes her eyes, and says with a serious tone, "We'll never know, dear Stan, for she is not allowed to read this poem. It is too important!" Zelk seems curious now.
"Indeed!" adds Steve. They laugh “nefariously” together.
Zelk approaches the table, and reaches out for the poem, but stops herself. Instead, she turns to Steve, and asks, not without difficulty, "...Can I read it?"
"Take a seat then,” he replies. “I'm almost done with this draft."
He indicates the spot next to him.
The young woman frowns a little, and walks around the table to sit opposite of Steve. "Oh hey!" warns Breeze. "You're not allowed to tell Fedler about this, got it?"
In response to this, Zelk plainly states, "I couldn't, even if I wanted to. She and Mihai are... going at it."
The fairy gasps. "They're arguing? I gotta stop them!" She flies out of the galley.
Steve giggles. "She really doesn't know what sex is. It's so easy to forget sometimes when she recites ‘I Want to be Your Canary’ verbatim, from memory."
That surprises her. "She doesn't know about sex? How could she not, with the kind of poems you write?"
She gestures to the piece of paper on the table.
"I honestly have no idea. I guess she thinks it's my stupid way of saying I love you."
He pushes the poem to her. "I thought I'd try branching out a bit."
She slightly jerks at the words 'I love you', but nevertheless takes a look at the poem. While she is reading it, the expression on her face softens, even if just a little, but then turns irritated when she is finished and looks back at Steve. "You wrote that for her?"
"Yup!"
She stays silent for a long moment, rereading the poem. "...There are no lewd jokes in it."
"Nope."
Steve sees something from her he hasn't seen before; dejection?
"Hey. No need for that." He reaches over and squeezes her hand. "When I started doing this it was just another stupid prank. I'd show you how clever I was and get your attention again."
Steve is able to hold her hand for two seconds, until she decides to take it away, irked by all of this. "Yes, you would. Are you planning to send me more of those 'funny' poems when this mission is done?"
"No. Well, maybe a few. But they won't be stupid like they were before. Would that be okay?"
She lets out a half-hearted scoff, then asks, "Would you still send them to me if I said no?"
"If you want me to stop, I'll stop."
She is taken aback by this statement, but she quickly regains her composure. "For how long exactly?"
"What do you mean?"
"If I told you to leave me alone, forever, how long before you tried to get my attention again?"
"It'll never happen so I don't know why you are bothering to ask."
"...It'll never happen?"
"Nope. You might think that would be a good thing. And it would be for a little while. But knowing you, you'd get insufferable after a few months. I bet your cohort wishes you'd get layed already and stop riding their asses all the time."
She stands immobile, expressionless. And then, she tells him, "Well, maybe I'm tired of this little 'game' of ours. Maybe I'll just forget about it, and move on with my life. After all, you're not going to give up, isn't that right?"
"Zelk, we've been chasing each other for almost 10 years. Am I chasing you or are you chasing me?"
“You're chasing me, obviously."
"Sure, right now. But for how long till the tables are turned and I become your prey again? Well here I am. I'm yours, Zelk. Now what do you want to do with me?"
I... I want to..." She struggles to come up with an answer.
"Well, how about this then? I'll write real letters to you and you'll write real letters to me. And if you figure out what you want, we'll go from there."
"What? Like friends?" That notion seems completely new to her.
"Well yeah." He looks at her confused. "I thought we went over that. Must have hit my face on something."
He gives her a deprecating smile.
"...And you swear there won't be any pranks attached to those letters?" She prepares herself to decipher his reply.
"No. I prank my friends. But I promise, it won't happen often. I'll even negotiate the terms if you want."
"Sounds more like a peace treaty than an accord between two friends." Zelk stares at him, still uncertain, but does make her decision. "You admit that of both of us, I've managed to surpass you. And then maybe I'll write back to you." She fully expects Steve to give only one answer to this demand.
"If it gets you to write back, sure. Though I don't know what saying it would really accomplish. I want you to write me back because you want to."
She blinks a few times. "So... this is it? What we've been doing for all those years, that's how this is going to end? In a ship's galley?" She has difficulty believing it.
"Ends? My dear Zelk this is just the beginning. Come and sit with me and tell me what you've been up to for a year. I could use the company and that sounds way more pleasant than worrying about the upcoming battle. We might die tomorrow you know."
"Well, worrying about the battle is a good way to prepare ourselves for it." She pauses. "Besides, I'm already sitting with you."
He makes a production of cleaning out his eyes and looking at her again. "So you are. My mistake."
She puts her elbow on the table, and supports her head with her hand. "So you want to talk? Then let's talk. But if I learn this was all another prank, you'll wish I only forced another colossal debt on you."
"Oh baby, you say the sweetest things."
"Don't call me baby."
"Oh yeah. Give me some of that lovin'."
She sighs. "I guess I'll just have to get used to it."
“It's definitely faster, but nothing gets me hotter than threats. Man, it's almost chubby down there." He says sardonically.
She gives him a little slap on the face. "No. We do talking. Like how two 'friends' would do. Now, you’re first.”
"Well, I was thinking of writing the next one for you. Would that be okay?"
She sighs again. "Yeah, sure. Just try something that isn't shockingly offensive this time."

Re: 2nd adventure: Proxy War
- Konrad and Zwei:
- Ditching his usual pomp and swagger and commanding demeanor, Konrad goes around to the crew to warn them of what to expect when they reach Nomad Cove to make sure they're mentally prepared. Then he visits with Zelk to ask her if her men are prepared for what's coming.
"They are," she confirms.
Konrad is going to go ahead and speak to each of her them, and ask them if they know what they're going to face.
Fredrick smiles. "Oh yeah, I'm ready to do my part for my country! Fight, kill, all that crap." He smiles.
Really? Curious.
"Huh." Konrad wonders if he sees a little of himself in the way he answered. "I see. What's your story, mate?"
"My story?" he repeats. "Oh, it's simple; got tired of a life of crime, and signed up with the military instead. It's nice to fight for somebody else, instead of just yourself." Konrad notices that he pretends not to be serious about this, while in reality, he is.
Wow, that is just eerily similar. Emphasis on eerily. "Heh. Not far from my own circumstances, in fact. If I had a glass with me, I'd make a toast."
Fredrick keeps smiling with no care in the world. "Whenever this mission is over, your treat captain."
"Hah! Well, just the once."
"We'll see."
Adam just nods at the captain with a look of complete confidence.
Then, he'll visit Zwei (Naomi). "Hey there, Naomi," he says, with a tone of familiarity putting them on the same level.
She's reading in the same place as two days ago. The coming storm is making it less comfortable, but she doesn't seem to mind.
"Captain. Come to give me a prep talk like the others?"
"Heh, the only thing faster than this ship is the news that travels among those aboard. I just wanted to say that it's good to see you back alive after we all scrambled at those leads. However, it's not going to be the same going forward."
"No, it's not." She shifts to a more somber tone. "An exchange at sea might take away the effect of surprise, even in the middle of the night. I am not looking forward to a naval battle."
"Have you spent much time at sea at all?"
"Nope. I've never traveled much." She holds up her book. "This is why I like reading."
"Yes, people like to romanticize what they've never experienced. Life at sea and life in other countries seem exotic to people who stay rooted to their homes. Still, it's quite a grand adventure for people who get to live it. I used to dream about it, you know, many years ago."
*pause*
Thunder rumbles in the distance. "You've never seen naval warfare, then. In every adventure there's the romantic parts, the daring parts, and the scary parts, and let me give you a fair warning, skirmishes at sea can be brutal. Whenever you see a fight coming with another ship, you have to prepare in the event that you'll never come back. Y'know, it's why all manner of seafaring crews, of all sizes and colors, like to bury their treasure for someone else to find. It's why they greet ports with greed and gusto, go a little stir crazy with wine and women. They want to leave behind a legacy of sorts. It's a step down from what they often don't have."
She considers those words for a moment. "What kind of legacy will you leave then?"
He thinks for a moment. "I've already made a legacy of sorts for myself already. It got...cut short, so I'll be spending the next year or so building it back up again." This could mean a few things, and he's keeping it vague on purpose. "But, I didn't come down here to talk about my plans for the future."
A slight smile appears on her face, and she looks down on her book again, but without reading it. "Then what have you come to talk about?"
With concern, Konrad answers, "I've come to give you my professional opinion. You keep your life private. I don't think a person benefits from keeping to themselves often, and if they do, it's usually because something's wrong. You seem very lonely to me, Naomi. It's not healthy or wholesome to shut oneself off from the world. And we've got not one, but two storms ahead of us, and it would not be professional of me not to be direct about our odds. This may be your last day in the world. It might also be mine. Forget legacy. Tell me, how would you most desire to leave this world?"
She avoids Konrad's gaze when he says the words "something's wrong". When he's finished speaking, she doesn't answer immediately, instead thinking about his question. "Why would the answer interest you? Once this mission is over, you'll go back to the Coins, I'll go back to the army, and we'll probably never see each other again."
"Because I'm not heartless, Naomi." He sits down with her. "I like to help my friends." He places his hand on the spine of the book and close it, gently. "I like to enjoy the life I have while I still have it." He places his hand on her shoulder and look into her eyes. "And deep down, there's a teacher inside everyone." He brushes my knee against hers. "The mission will be over when it's over. All that matters is right now. And right now, you have two choices. You can stay down here alone and try to find your place in this sad book you've been trying to read. Or, you can follow me. And later look back on the memory of how alive you felt, in just a few moments."
Naomi's whole body stiffens when Konrad sits down next to her, but the more he touches her, the more relaxed she becomes. Her eyes are locked onto his, and she dares not to say another word.
_______________________
Naomi is lying down in the bed, and looking up at the ceiling. After a moment of silence, she sits up and starts to dress herself, not saying a word.
Konrad stays in bed. This was super relaxing. He definitely needed that. "Thank you."
His mindset is he was absolutely doing her a favor, but he still needed this like you wouldn't believe. She glances at him, but doesn't respond, and puts her shirt back on.
Wow. That's almost Eins-level quiet. Konrad hopes nothing's wrong. Although he did get some hint toward this earlier when they talked in the cargo hold. "Are you all right? I'm sorry if I got carried away with...you know."
"No, it's not... it's not that." She stops moving. "...It was good. Very good even. Maybe we'll do it again, but we're done for now. Sex, that's all it was." She slowly buttons her shirt.
"Of course." Konrad sighs. What kind of a sigh is it? One of relaxation? Or one of disappointment? "Just a couple more hours. Let's knock 'em dead, Naomi."
"Better them than us," she replies. She finishes getting dressed.
Konrad takes his time dressing up. By the time he's done, Naomi's already gone. He pours himself a cup of rum and starts brewing coffee, taking a swig of that while waiting, and lights up his pipe. He pulls out his loaf of bread, cheese, and dried meat, and starts to have himself a little meal while he waits for the coffee. His life couldn't be going ANY better right now...hmm, well, almost.
The sex was amazing, but Konrad finds himself wanting more than that. He catches himself imagining that the two of them could do away with the "professionalism" pretenses. In his mind's eye, he comes home from sailing to visit the guards' barracks in Freehold for a midnight dalliance with Naomi. Or instead, she comes rushing up the docks, sprinting across the gangplank to throw her arms around him and give him a kiss. Romanticizing the idea of...a romance.
He blows a smoke ring as he pours himself a cup of coffee, topping it off with rum and sugar. He continues to drink and smoke, his mind wandering back and forth between the three women he's met in the last month. A dead bard's apprentice who's only wish was to bring joy through her songs, a savvy businesswoman who takes what she wants, and a patriotic military lady playing hard to get (for some private reason he managed to gleen from her). He shrugs it off as he throws open the door of his captain's cabin, taking in the sight of the dark clouds on the horizon, the rain beginning to pelt the decks. Time to find his nemesis Kira and send her down to meet his captain, in Davey Jones' Locker.

- Mihai and Zywia:
Mihai is informed that Zywia is in her cabin. He knocks on her door.
“You may enter,” responds the lady.
“"Excuse me." Mihai enters
The old mage is writing in her journal. She puts her quill down, and turns around. "Is something the matter?"
"No, I... may not have another chance, so i just wanted to say thanks."
She scrutinizes the mercenary standing in her room. "Really? For what?"
"Helping me out few days ago." He sighs. "You were right. It hurt like hell to go through it, but it needed to happen. I understand that now."
Zywia can't help but chuckle. "Well, I don't know if I really helped, but you're welcome. Although, while I do not discourage this relationship of yours, I feel that you should be warned; mercenaries have it harder than anyone else. Romance and work don't mix very well."
Mihai lets slip a chuckle of his own. "Yeah, no kidding. But that's just the way it is."
"Also... I noticed I only managed a pretty short amount of sleep in the last few days, but when I woke up this morning I was pretty well rested. I figured, since your cabin is right next to mine, maybe you'd had something to do with that."
She raises her eyebrows in surprise. "I didn't." She pauses. "I don't know how that would be possible.”
"I see. Do you know if there's any kind of magic that would have helped with nightmares?"
She appears even more confused. "No. Sorry darling, but I don't think that magic had anything to do with it."
Mihai deflates. "I see... Well, thanks for everything."
He takes his leave.
Breeze appears at the end of the hallway.
"Blue. Can I talk to you for a minute?"
"You again! Fancy seeing you here!" She approaches him, when suddenly, a wave splashes against the ship, and makes Mihai wobble a little.
"What's up?” asks Breeze, not a care in the world.
He regains himself and shakes it off. "Well, that was fun. Listen, last night I only slept maybe five hours, but woke up like it had been eight or nine. My nightmares went all away after the second time I dozed off, too. Like, you're the only one I can think of who might have a trick like that. Did you do anything?"
She tilts her head. "What? No, I can't do anything like that. Although I wish I could! I could charge people for it!" She relishes the idea.
Mihai is just at a loss and asks, just in case, "Where did you sleep last night, if you don't mind me asking?"
"Uh? Oh, with Steve! We were playing word games!"
Mihai hears someone snicker and it’s coming from Zelk’s cabin. While Breeze continues down the hallway, probably to explore the hold, he knocks on the door, but there’s no response. He opens it. There's no one there. Before anyone can see him, Mihai closes the door. Then, he hears a voice coming from behind him.
"Not yet. Not today."
He looks back, and sees no one. "Good luck," it says.
"Hey!" says Mihai. "Who are you?"
"Who are you talking to?" This is Eins, who is coming from the hold.
"No one,” replies Mihai, flatly
"Uh." Adam tries not to think too much about it, and leaves the mercenary alone.
Mihai was sure it was a male voice at first, but maybe it was just a child's? No, definitely a woman's. Or was it? It sounded amused. He decides to call it Snicker.
"I like it,” says the voice.
“Glad to know,” responds Mihai.
Did he think this reply, or just said it? He wasn’t sure anymore, but nobody was around, so no need to worry.

Re: 2nd adventure: Proxy War
In the middle of the night, amidst a storm which momentarily lights up the horizon in a crackle of thunder, the Barracuda is navigating the tumultuous waters of the Enclave, being hurled around the waves like a toy. Captain Akim is at the helm, shouting orders at the crew to keep the vessel afloat. Luckily, the ship is now entering Nomad's Cove, the bay that is found between two islands, where the waters are shallower, and thus much easier to navigate. Whenever lightning strikes, the party can see the silhouettes of these islands in the distance.
"Ship at ten o'clock!" yells Edward, who can barely be heard under the cacophony of the storm. "All hands, prepare combat stations!"
The crew immediately scampers off to ready the canons at the sight of this heavy frigate, which is only twelve hundred meters away from the Barracuda. There's no trace of the merchant ship the Lorinth agents were supposed to go meet Kira Paddle with.
"Captain!?" shouts Edward. "What is our approach!?"
Ice, her squad, and the rest of the party is all on deck.
"That's not as fun as in those books!" comments Breeze, who's holding for dear life on Steve's shoulder.

- Konrad only:
- This is Kira Paddle's vessel, a 28 canons frigate just a little smaller than the Barracuda. Your vessel has 32 canons, and its maneuverability should be similar to her ship.

Re: 2nd adventure: Proxy War
"We're getting clear of her cannons first, Edward. Veer to portside, roll out the guns!"
With the wind at their backs, the crew have advantage of speed and maneuvering vs Kira's vessel. When the Barracuda's broadsides are aimed at the enemy ship's aft, Konrad barks the order to fire.
Steve, Konrad, and Mihai are pretty smart dudes. We put our Intelligence together to roll for tactical maneuvers.

Re: 2nd adventure: Proxy War
Mihai gets a running start off the deck, grabs a line as he jumps and swings onto the enemy vessel. As he lets go of the line he reaches and draws the massive blade of Waterglass, a magical weapon with a blade that appears to be made of transparent ice, in a massive swing that splits a hapless pirate in two. The blade freezes the rain around it, creating flashes of spraying ice as it is swung around.

Re: 2nd adventure: Proxy War
The Barracuda successfully took Kira Paddle's ship by surprise, and fired a volley of cannonballs on it before the enemy could do anything. As soon as it was possible, boarding planks were set down, and privateers began to fight pirates; all over a mysterious artifact which was locked away in a mysterious wooden coffin that sat on Paddle's deck.
Fedler, who had climbed on top of the Barracuda's middle mast, made sure to eliminate any threat she deemed serious, such as a man who tried to fire a swivel gun at the party. Zelk, Steve and Konrad made good use of their magic to kill large number of enemies, and Mihai charged into the fray with Waterglass, a greatsword given to him by Saemon, which the mercenary infused with magical energy. As for Zelk's squad members, they used ropes to swing themselves aboard the enemy's vessel to subdue the Lorinth agent sent to buy the artifact. Zywia, a powerful white mage, stayed back on the Barracuda and healed as many people as she could.
The attack was so overwhelming, the pirates had no choice but to surrender, and Kira Paddle angrily let go of her crossbow. Just as the 113th adjunct and Zelk's squad moved to secure the cargo they had been sent to recover, they heard something, or someone, knock from inside the coffin.
"It sounds like a person trapped in there," said Mihai.
The Lorinth agent, a dangerous yellow mage who was immobilized by Eins, scoffed and responded with, "You are wrong. It's not a person."
"What is it then?"
Kira laughed. "An imitation," she replied.
Right at this moment, the whole ship shook, and the Barracuda was pushed away from the other vessel. The boarding planks feel into the water, and a disguised Konrad inched his blade on Kira's throat. "What the bloody hell is this!?" he asked.
"I don't know!" shouted back the pirate captain, who appeared confused.
Whatever was inside the coffin stopped knocking. The rain continued to pour down like a waterfall, and thunder crackled in the sky. This is when giant tentacles rose up from the sides of the ship, slowly tightening their grip on this big wooden toy floating in the middle of the bay.
Then all the party members heard someone snicker.

"Sorry," says Snicker. "Couldn't resist."
All three of you heard that. The tentacles move to attack.

Re: 2nd adventure: Proxy War
The tentacles of the sea creature didn't lose any time, and started to crush the privateers and pirates like pulp. Then they went for the middle mast, and wrapped themselves around it. In the process, it pushed the coffin aside, and whatever was inside started to punch its way out of its wooden cage. While this happened, the rest of the party did their best to repel the sea creature, using magic and swords to injure its long limbs. Litters of blood spilled out of those wounds. At one point, the creature was so angry that it broke the mast in half, and flung Mihai across the ship. He broke a few of his ribs, and taken a lot of damage, but it could have been a lot worse if it wasn't for the pirate that took the brunt of the fall; and died because of it.
Just as the party repelled the last of these tentacles, the coffin broke open and revealed what was inside it; a young man in dirty rags, a gag on his mouth, which he promptly took off. He examined his surroundings, and stared down at Fedler who was the only person left near the coffin, but ignored her to return his attention on the tentacles that had risen from the depth for a second attack. This time, the sea creature had a different idea in mind; to take the whole ship down with it.
The man in rags pulled Fedler away from one of the tentacles that was about to crush her, and used his remaining hand to block another tentacle. At the sight of Fedler being in danger, Mihai flew into rage and charged at the two tentacles blocking his path, using his Blessed nature to deal even more damage than he usually would, thus causing the slippy limbs to retreat momentarily. This is when the man in rags threw Fedler into the water, and immediately followed suit. By that point, Kira Paddle, the Lorinth agents, the squad memers, and most pirates and privateers that were still alive (not a lot) had already left the vessel, and the party knew they had to do the same, or they would soon become squid's dinner.
Nevertheless, Konrad made sure to dual-cast fire spells on one of the giant creature's tentacles; a souvenir to remember him by. The flames also reached the sails of the ship, and they started to spread everywhere despite the rain. Steve hurried to Zelk's side to check up on her, took her hand, and jumped off the ship like everyone else. The party members then heard Snicker's voice tell them with a half-reassuring, half-mocking tone, "I will take care of the rest."
They fell unconscious.

The party members wake up on a beach, separated from each other. It's daylight again, and there's not a cloud in the sky. By observing the position of the sun in the sky, it appears that it's around 8 or 9 o'clock in the morning. There is a big island in the distance, impossible to reach without a boat. Except that, there's a forest which they can enter.

- I would prefer if you didn't read each other's roleplay, at least until you've found each other again. We'll do this in forum format too, since Kolson told me he'll be somewhat busy with work, and I need to move you guys all at the same time anyway, and not individually through chat.
- Mihai only:
- Mihai wakes up next to Fredrick, who is sitting besides a pile of small rocks he collected to throw them into the water.
"Welcome back to the land of the living," he says. "...We are alive, right?"
There's no one else with you.
- Konrad only:
- Konrad wakes up next to Naomi and Adam; the young woman is already awake, but not her companion.
She greets him with a short, "Hey".
- Steve:
- Steve wakes up next to Zelk, who is still unconscious. She is still breathing though.
A bunch of miscellaneous items (sheets of paper, quill, book, map, etc.) are threatening to fall off her bag.

- Mihai:
- Noticing the absence of Fedler, Mihai immediately mentally shouts "SNICKER!!".
The ensuing silence does nothing to improve his mood.
Mihai gets back up to his feet, only to stumble in sharp pain that cuts from his wound all the way to his spine. He glares down with gritted teeth at his injury as he realizes the implication.
Speaking to Fredrick, he does his best to hide the anger and sound neutral "Where are we?"

Re: 2nd adventure: Proxy War
- Mihai only:
- Fredrick's mouth hangs open, as he's now uncertain on how best to react to the mercenary's shout. He is visibly relieved to hear his companion act normally again by asking a question, which he is happy to give him an answer to.
"No idea. I'm guessing that's Nomad's Cove though."
He points at the bay.
- Steve only:
- At first, Zelk doesn't react at all to Steve's attempt to wake her up, but with a little more effort, she slowly opens her eyes.
"...What?"
