Great timing. I recently bought the Back to the Future trilogy and watched them all in one go (I had forgotten most of the plot). Just so I could buy Telltale's Back to the Future game, which I heard good things about. And so K doesn't feel left out, here's a picture of me walking in Spain (I have so few pictures of me...).




It was taken six years ago, but I haven't changed. Neither has the cuddly toy. His name is Pablito by the way, and yes, I still have him.

Huh. It's strange. Spoiler tags work fine for us. It's a very specific problem you have, I wonder how it happened. I usually have two browsers in case one screw up, so you might want to try that.

I use Firefox as of now.

Coder? No way. I'm mostly an animator. I do models too, rigging, weight painting, texturing, etc. Basically the work from the time you start modelling to the time it's ported onto the game engine, which requires me to know a few things about the engine itself. But all i know about coding are the AS3 classes in college and the time when i was 17 or something and got into MUGEN, and i've forgotten most of it.

I use Chrome and Edge and it works fine for either of those. I did have problems opening the spoiler tags over on the Fallout wiki the other day but they went away when I restarted Chrome. Shrug.

First, sorry for not answering to the other posts, I've been down with the flu for a while now, and am just well enough to post this. Now that the downer part is over, I love the classics so here. Happy birthday Rory!

Kolson, that song sums up exactly how I feel. I appreciate it. In fact, I did cut my own cake.

I only like the song if it's being sung by my family and/or friends, and only the once per year. But you guys are my pals, and there's only so much you can do for your fellow man on his birthday without spending cash or recording yourself. Honestly it's humbling that you guys remember, so thank you!

Despicable Me 2 and Minions were sequels that no one asked for and weren't all that great.

Glad you liked it. Interesting enough about the Minions they weren't even supposed to be in the original Despicable Me. They were made for a separate project and added in for the cute/sales factor. That's why you can cut them entirely from the movie and it wouldn't matter either way. That's also why they were integrated much better into part 2's plot, such as it was.

They had a place. They were what the audience could look to for something cute and funny and nothing else. What they did better than just being normal human minions is take that "I know each and every one of you" trope(that part where he's saying their names whenever he addresses on of them as an individual) and took away the grim factor, being cute/funny reinforced the gentle side of Gru. It shows that he's approachable.

I was just thinking about how awesome it would be to have more mage classes specific to the column A, column B type of specialization with Black, White, and Yellow magic. There's only one - the Red Mage, a specialization in both Black and White magic at expert level(as a step down from mastery). I mean, come on - Black magic and Yellow magic! I would call that an Orange Mage. The colors don't mix to become orange, but hey, Black and White don't mix to become Red, so whatever. Green mages though, are right out. They're on a tier all their own that wouldn't work as "specializing.

That just leaves White-Yellow specialization. Brown? Pink? No no, I got it. Black-Yellow = Brown Mage. White-Yellow = Orange Mage. I would propose that as a result of mixed specialization, a mage who would otherwise be a Yellow Mage can't cast any time-altering magic, such as Quicken.

Question for the DM, after a Red Mage has mastered their class, would it be possible for them to take one level in either Black or White magic to gain an Ultimate spell? For excelling at both, and having more character levels to burn through than the class itself, you'd think that would be feasible. Or say a Red Mage could continue leveling their class through Epic levels to gain mastery of one Ultimate spell. And then be able to dualcast it at level 30!

While I agree that the Minions did do that they have almost no involvement in the main plot or in its resolution. They could have just as easily been the Three Stooges or an army of dinosaur-riding ninja ghosts.

You know what I liked about them though? When the movie came out I thought Gru had made them to be his friends and helpers, because of how bad he was at making friends with other people. In my mind it made the ending even better. I'm pretty bummed at the origin story we got in Minions.

At to Red Mages getting something extra I bet I could talk him into a Prestige Class for Red Mages, not that I think I'll ever get Kolson up to level 20, much less 20+ (Won't complain if it happens though!).

First, I need to get this out of my mind first: 'specialization' means 'focusing on a particular area'. So having access to two types of magic is the inverse of specialization.

From a gameplay and setting perspective, Red Mages make sense in that they are meant to be a Jack-of-All-Trades, and RMs not touching yellow magic actually shows how hard yellow magic is to learn and master compared to white and black magic.
Yellow Mages are quite powerful and are meant to be a heavy support class, but Rory's idea could work. Another way to get something close would be to multiclass yellow mage and white mage... or anything really.

And about green mages... Javan got into a 'exclusive' (not unique, note) version of it, so we do have proper specialization for greenies. (And I think I forgot to add the class' bonus +4 points in Knowledge Elements on my sheet too. Going to fix that next)

But yeah, talking with the GM is always a good idea.
