Kolson spends his evening hammering out an agreement with the local Country Rider representative, a portly Elf woman named Velania of Nightsong, which entails a noticeable improvement on behalf of the Riders in lack of bandit attacks in their local traffic or some type of definitive proof otherwise that shows the bandits will be leaving their caravans and riders alone henceforth, in exchange for material or financial goods equal to the amount that would have been spent on hiring the guards and expected losses over the next month. Kolson also learns a few details, though the information isn't that encouraging. The attacks have been happening for over a week now, since shortly after the refugee situation got 'settled in' so to speak, and have been targeting more than just the Riders, though the Riders have been losing packages left and right. So far no deaths amongst riders or caravaneers, but several injuries when things got tense, showing the bandits are willing to fight back. Three days ago one of the caravans with an armed escort repulsed an attack, killing one of the bandits (reportedly by accident). Since yesterday, several caravans and riders have just plain gone missing, with no real leads to their whereabouts other than the last routes they took, which Velania of Nightsong helpfully provides (the main attacks occured far southwest of here, between Redmoore and Westermill.
