Fifth Adventure 02: The Long Day

The city is still fairly active and abuzz, but not quite to the panic pitch of the previous day. You make your way, early, towards the Open Palms Forum which you find to be surprisingly empty at the moment. There are hundreds of people there, all asking questions of various Aides, Officials, and military personnel about what's going on, and why, and how. You also notice Z is standing there, arms crossed, waiting without a word. Upon your arrival Z points nonchalantly at a very tall and dignified looking Troll dressed in white and yellow robes with a fine interwoven mesh on them. There are several very well-armed looking individuals standing at his sides, but none of the people he is answering questions for look hostile, merely curious. You recall how politics work in the Naverre, and it occurs to you to get his attention but wait patiently, for it's unlikely you could cut in line anyways.

before Tab goes to wait in line he dose a sweep of the place listening for any new news and looking for anything that seams odd

They arrive at the Forum. Zeiss is curious about what is happening exactly. He observes the crowd.

His eyes stop on the Naverre politician.

"Hey guys... do not interrupt the Distributor or try to cut the line. Unless you want him indisposed to help us."

He waits patiently.

Tabran attempt's to keep an eye on the young Elf without seaming to be watching him.

Unfortunately the Elf seems to have realized he was spotted as you nondescriptly try to keep track of him and his area and realize somewhat suddenly that you've lost him. You scan the nearby crowds quickly but see no sign of him.

humm well that's is irritating

Tab move's closer to zeiss and informs him of the Elf and gives him a description

"Hmm... let's wait for the Distributor. I might search for this man later. For now, I do not think I can catch him."

The Troll finishes talking with his various citizens and finally gestures your group over. "Greetings, greetings," he begins with a somewhat jovial air. You get the immediate impression this man is very accustomed to speaking in a manner to put others at ease, as his very body language and demeanor are all quite open and polite. "I am Rennaz of Seaspear," he offers a short bow, "Distributor of the Reach, at your service. Before you say anything, I'm aware of what it is you seek and I might be able to help you, for that is my job after all. All I request is one favor in return, a detour in your intended path to be sure but one I hope you would be willing to see through." He smiles at your reaction and gestures lightly. "No don't worry, I'm not asking you something horrible, rather something personal. You see, my son has been in a strange situation lately. I've been trying to marry the boy off, grooming him for position, you know how it is, but he has become quite unpopular in the town he is Mayor of, a mining town northwest of here called Karath." He gives a look of fatherly concern. "If the boy does not wish to follow in his father's footsteps, I can accept that, but he should make that decision when he is older and not sabotage a potential career so soon. You know how Naverre politics go," he gives a smile.

"So. I request you journey towards Karath, contact my son, and help him resolve whatever is wrong and give him the council I have given you. I am," he begins, looking wary for the first time, "told by my good friend Aurelon that your group would be capable of handling a matter of subtlety and tact, is this correct?"

Zeiss nods politely to the Distributor.

"Yes Sir. That is correct. As soon as we leave this town, we will go for Karath and make sure this matter is resolved discreetly."

At the Troll's words, Rory slinks back a couple steps and averts his gaze. Subtlety and tact, and he specialized in the exact opposite. Aside from solving whatever problem Karath was facing, he would have to leave the talking to the others.

"if you dont mind me asking how far out is this town? for supple reasons?"

"Oh a day's trek or so I'd say, there's a road leading there of course. I'd be sending you under armed guard, so no worries there, can't let the people worry," he smiles again and you get the impression the real reason for the guard is as an excuse to the citizens of Al-Jalima as to why your group is getting permission to leave when so few others are.

"You are really helpful Distributor. Before we go, can you leave us some time to get supplies for the journey ahead?"

"Of course, of course," the Troll gives a laugh for the crowd of onlookers. "But I strongly recommend you hurry, for both your and my sakes... I do grow concerned, and the timing of this," he shakes his head. "As for you, I imagine you are most eager to be released into the world to do your good deeds again, as proud servants of the Order."

"You are right sir."

Zeiss smiles slightly.

"An hour would be enough for me and my colleagues. Where do you want us to meet the escort?"

tab bows and makes to leave

"The northern gate, one hour from now... they are, in fact, already there but I shall send a messenger to inform them of the delay. And," his voice suddenly lowers to a near whisper, though his expression and body posture change not at all, "do try to keep your departure a secret at least until you leave."

Zeiss gives a little nod to the politician. He turns around and the group leaves. He tells them discreetly in case they didn't hear :

"Don't tell anyone. See you at the rendezvous point."

He goes towards the Bloodied Flock headquarters.

when they get to the wagon tab gose fox form and hides in the wagon to diminish there numbers even by a little will make leaving easier, but before that Tab had an errand to run.

Rory retreats to the room they rented and he fiddles with the chain and locks he bought in the previous town. He takes a couple shots of the bourbon and visits the bar to buy a friendly supply of strong mead--not ogre-strong, but potent relative to the weak stuff any "elf" like him normally drinks. He then takes a stroll about the city to find the nearest soup kitchen, bread line or other similar charity to make a meager donation of his remaining 50 silver. After finishing his errand, he waits for Kez to show up before going to the northern gate.

Hanuel followed along with the group. This was out of their range of experience, and they felt like there wasn't anything they could add. The plan seemed sound enough, so all there was left was to wait for everyone to finish gathering supplies.

tab gets to the local Praxis inc building.

"Hello there I was wondering is you could help me? I'm looking for a price on a item of gear I'm thinking of buying, I'm looking for something to give its wearer night sight *Tab show's the mage the tattoo armour that he has* my hope is for something like this but from what I have learned about its making it is of a really high level to make and as such may be out of my price range, the alternative I have been thinking of is just a set of goggles with night sight on them, unless you can suggest something else?"
