Roads In All Directions: The Cloak

*Eyes the Cloak a bit less warily now.*

"Well, i don't know why you're doing all this, but... thanks."

"you have my thanks it seams that our list of allies grows thin and even the ones that we thought we may trust are been turned against us..."

"I... I need a breather. Thank you for bringing out gear, whoever you are." Hanuel turns and heads towards the coast, meaning to get a little time away from the group to think.

"can you also get letters to us safely should we need a reply to them?"

"Thank ya, I'll be havin' it ready when he's comin." Snarg nods at the cloaked figure.

The Cloak pauses for some time before responding to Tabran. "Names are things of... great significance to my people. I'm afraid I will not part with it at such a light meeting. Perhaps in the future. For now, know that I am one of the Eleven, The Warden."

"The nearest town is Hearthollow, a simple farming township that is roughly 48.37 miles north of here. Your Olthoi friend will be safe until her fate is in her own hands, at that point it is up to her."

It turns to Tabran once more. "I am not a mail delivery service, and maintaining such a ruse at such a level for as many people as you request is infeasible." A pause. "I am sorry."

"then thank you for any help that you can give, for now to make it easier on us would you mind if we refer to you as ward?"

Still in discussion with Hanuel.
"It ain't like we're going around tellin' everybody our names," he reasoned. "We just keep our heads down and travel by land, it ain't gonna be that hard. 'Sides, Gwydo might like to visit the Life temple, and I am a little curious as to what sort of trial awaits us there."

Hanuel continues walking, getting well out of earshot of the group, before sitting down to meditate.

The Warden turns towards Higaide. "We do what we do to help. And you are welcome." It turns towards Tabran. "If you wish to defile my given title, do so not in my presence. I am The Warden, and if you have no wish to address me as such then apply no moniker at all."

Rory turns to Tabran. "It's just a name, Lycan. I didn't ask you if you were okay with being called 'Tab', so seeing as it ain't his real name to begin with, it don't matter."

When the Warden speaks his displeasure at the idea, Rory nods in silent reverie and turns back toward teh discussion.

As Hanuel turns his back on him, Rory groans mildly, feeling slighted. He turns toward Fierneceal, awaiting an answer expectantly.

"We're bein' south o' Holtsburg? Long ways from where we bein' bfore. I ain't thinkin' we gonna be taken in too kind-like if we're still gonna be goin' there." Snarg ponders out loud.

"If we keep off the main roads and keep a low profile, we should be able to travel fairly inconspicuously. So long as we don't all go into any towns we encounter all at once. At least until Holtburg, but even then, we should avoid entering together."
"If it is feasible, I'd like to visit the Life temple. Again, as long as we're not all together at once, we should be fairly safe."

Fierneceal turns to Rory slowly, with an apologetic look. "I'm so sorry, I've been focused on the man in the cloak. Honestly, I don't know if he'd be able to help. I don't know if he's even still there, but there's no harm in trying, I suppose."

"More trials? I'm curious about the Earth temple myself, but i can put it off."

Fierneceal steps in curiously. "What are these trials you all are speaking of?"

"Fierneceal, maybe you should ask him about your brother?"

"Perhaps I should, Gwydo, but honestly... I'm a bit frightened of the answer. It's been so long..."

"You go into an elemental temple and get a trial of sorts. Afterwards, you fail or you pass. No one tells you, you just know.

And you should ask about your brother. Can't be worse than not knowing."

Snarg spits on the ground, "Big ol' visions that try to be teachin' ya what they're wantin', that's what the trials're bein'."

"He said he wouldn't have information on an individual level."

To Fierneceal: "There are temples on this continent, one at each elemental ley line. So far, we've been to the Spacial temple, and we underwent a trial there. It was a first for me."

"As painful as it would be to learn if he has met his fate, it is better than constant worrying about what 'might be'. Though I do understand your reluctance."

Fierneceal sighs deeply and steps forward to meet the cloaked figure. "Sir Warden... I know you've said you aren't helping individuals, only the group as a whole to their destination, but... I am worried about the well-being of my brother, Flux. I haven't seen him in apparently weeks, though to myself it's only been a matter of days. If there's anything you could tell me, even if it's just to let me know he's safe, I would be grateful beyond recognition. If not, well... I understand."

You assume The Warden is staring at you from its posture, though of course you see no face nor features. "Are you certain you would prefer the answer?"
