Fourth Adventure 04.2: Snarg, Javan, Kolson, Kez at the Graveyard

The Snarg party is still deciding whether or not to head out now, try to get some rest, or something else.

"Searchin' fer somethin' at night ain't the best plannin'. 'sides, might be some critters waitin' to snack on ya." Snarg warns the group. "If you wantin' to be gettin' some rest and take a crack at 'em in the mornin', I ain't complainin'."

You are aware that Reedsharks patrol the graveyards frequently to prey on the weak and dying Kodos. There are of course the Kodos themselves but they are unlikely to pose a threat. It is also possible any other predators nearby might roam there, looking for an easy meal.

"We be gettin' some Reedsharks if we're headin' o'er there. Mainly be lookin' fer Kodos to be munchin' on, but I ain't puttin' it past 'em to be takin' a swipe at ya. If headin' there now ya might be packin' ya big pants, yep. If ya askin' Snarg, ya goin' to be havin' better luck doin' ya thing at mornin' - that is if ya ain't in a hurry."

After speaking briefly with Kez, Snarg turns to Kolson and Javan. "A'ight, we gonnna be restin' fer a bit 'fore we be trompin' inna graveyard at high night. Get ya some rest - we gonna be leavin' when ya get sun in ya eyes."

The sky begins to brighten before the sun rises, creeping its way over red clay hills. It is now about 4 AM, February 6th.

Snarg lightly kicks Javan, Kolson, and Kez up if they're not rising already. "We gotta git movin'. Get ya munches and then pack ya things fer gettin' goin'."

The group packs up and is off before the sun actually rises, making good time across the red plains. As you are traveling you come across a lone Kodo, obviously old and weak, wandering in the direction of the Graveyard. You imagine you are fairly close at this point, though realize you don't know how large or small this is.

*Kez barely remembers the trip here. She's an early riser, but today they had risen before the crack of dawn, and that's too early even for her.*

*Kez plods ahead, wearily rubbing the sleep out of her eyes.*

"What should we be on the look out for here. I'm afraid I'm not very experienced in the tracking capturing or interrogating department."

"Eh, we first be lookin' out fer ourselves. Then we be lookin' fer anyone who's doin' the same. Be lookin' fer any signs of movin' 'round that ain't that," Snarg points to a Kodo track, "anythin' weird-like. If we be gettin' ta interrogatin'," he grins a bit, "maybe ya be leavin' that ta Snarg."

Snarg:
Most of the Kodo tracks are normal, dying, slow tracks. You also spot a large number of Reedshark tracks and Armordillo tracks.

Snarg stands back up after examining the ground around the area. "Eh, ain't lookin' like no one's been here 'sides Kodo, Reedsharks, an' Armordillas. 'less ya findin' somethin' else, I'm thinkin' this ain't too popula' wit' Sclavi."

*Kezrin looks around her, attempting to spot anything out of the ordinary*

"You have better eyes than I do. Should we take a quick trip around the grave yard or in it just to be sure? How much would the sands have shifted over the last couple days? Could it have covered up the tracks?"

Kezrinthka:
In the distance you do manage to spot the edges of the graveyard itself, and no sign of the telltale barks or blade-scraping sound of Armordillos, which is good.

"Ya, that'll happen. Just sayin' there nothin' Sclavi-like been here recent if that's happenin'," Snarg turns to Kolson, "Kolson, what do ya Elven eyes see? Gonna be lookin' there, be spreadin' out but don't be goin' outta eyeballin', hm." he thumbs over at the graveyard.

"I believe we should stay in groups of two. I'll take Javan and head this directions *points left* You and Kolson head the other way. Sound good?"

"A'ight, that's bein' fine. If we not findin' anythin' let's be headin' back 'fore," Snarg adopts a concerned expression "we be trampin' a graveyard."

After about an hour of searching the surrounding area you find several roaming beasts... foxes, wolves, Reedsharks, no Armordillos again thankfully. Not a lot of Kodos, only a few.

Snarg's Group:
As you roam closer to the graveyard itself you spot a lone Reedshark. This, by itself, is suspicious as Reedsharks are strong pack animals and even when domesticated work in groups.

Kezrinthka's Group:
You spot a lone Kodo, trundling away from the graveyard in obvious pain, its skin an unusual tint of green.

"Hang up," Snarg holds up a paw to halt his group, "there's bein' somethin' fishy 'bout this."

Snarg:
The creature looks very ill, like it's about to fall over from some kind of internal pain. If you had to wager a guess you'd say it was diseased.

*turns to Javan* "I believe this Kodo has been poisoned... a slow acting one if the pallor of his skin and the fact that he's still alive is anything to go by... Perhaps Snarg will have a better idea of what it could be."

*She looks up and spots Snarg across the graveyard good he's not too far away She takes a deep breath preparing to call out to him, but spots the reedshark perhaps now was not the best time .

"Stay here Javan I'll be right back."

*DASH to meet up with snarg*

*seconds pass*

*the Olthoi comes to a grinding halt in front of Snarg*

"Sorry to interupt, but I've got a Kodo just across the graveyard. Its been poisoned by a strong slow acting poison. I though perhaps you might have a bit more knowledge of poisons to look into it?"

Snarg begins to utter some beast-like clicking and grunting sounds at the Reedshark while drawing out a piece of dried meat from his pack. He holds up a finger to his mouth in a 'quiet' gesture to the approaching members. Continuing his calls and holding out the food, he begins slowly approaching the Reedshark.

Snarg approaches the Reedshark, which looks at you passively. You can tell by the way it is swaying its dorsal fin that it means you no harm, but as you get closer it falls to the ground and begins wheezing uncontrollably, like it's having trouble breathing.
