Fifth Adventure 03.2: The Path of Darkness

Rory:
You emerge in a new room, which looks very odd. The 'walls' are made of smokey wisps of black fog, and there doesn't appear to be a ceiling as the night sky stretches above, with a crescent moon shining down upon you. No flowers here, as only the moon provides lighting. There is a small pool of water over in one corner of the 'room', and three very solid and metal looking doors along the smokey not-walls, one to the east, one to the north, and one to the west. The Blue Orb is in this room, hovering.

Fierneceal clears her throat loudly and rolls her eyes, following Rory through.

"Fierneceal, this wall has been magically augmented. I assume by the runes you pressed." He looks back and doesn't see her or Rory. "Where did they just go?"

Fier:
Same description I just gave Rory except...

Fier & Rory:
The Blue orb has now hovered over by the pool.

Fierneceal stays where she is for a moment, waiting for the others to follow through the wall. If none are forthcoming, she attempts to go back through to lead them.

Rory marches over to the pool first, hoping to find something obvious, then moves to inspect the doors. "Damn these puzzles," he mutters. "Every second we waste brings Kezrinthka closer to death."

tab slaps his forehead with the pram of his hand and follows the others

Z, seeing the writing on the wall so to speak, walks through as well and enters the new room. They are more startled by its appearance then the other two, and look around. "This is... very... this is not normal."

Fierneceal, seeing the others enter, wipes her hand down her face and stalks over to Rory, laying a hand gently on his arm. "Rory, may I speak with you a moment, please?"

"ye and we dont even know if she was taken this way but people didnt stop to check"

Walking over to the rune wall, Kolson follows Z through. "Wow, look at those walls. I wonder who made this place?"

He walks over to the orb at the pool and pears into the water.

"Speak then," he says, not turning to look at her.

Spoiler:

The doors do not seem to have any features that would enable them to be opened, including handles or seams to be pried.

The pool is very still, gives off no reflection whatsoever, and is the exact same color as the Blue orb still hovering nearby.

Fierneceal turns and ducks her head down so she can look at Rory's face. "Rory... I'm so sorry you feel like we're ignoring you. I have no excuse, I just get taken by my environment and have a hard time right now, with everything that's going on. But please, I need you to trust us and not go running off like this. It's dangerous, and could get you into a lot of trouble. I'd hate to lose you, especially now, especially having something familiar in my grasp again. Please. Trust us. Trust me."

Tabran:
You stick your finger through and it goes through, and feels quite warm, but otherwise nothing happens. The water does ripple, however.

"How does it feel, Tab?"

tan cups his hands in the water and brings it up to his face and sniffs

Rory visibly relaxes and rubs his forehead. "It's not that I don't trust you," he says. "You're the witch-mage of Vesayen, I'd be a fool not to for that matter. It's just...I've got no clue in this situation, and nobody's saying anything."

He walks over to the pool in resignation. "Well, I've got nothing," he announces to the group. "Can't open the doors, and there's nothing we can use, to my knowledge."

Fierneceal sighs and rubs lightly along Rory's arm as he turns away. She follows and kneels beside the pool, beside Tabran, and lightly places her hand flat against the water's surface.

"it feels like humm like water but not. as if i had put my hand in a childs painting of water"

Tabran:
You cannot grasp any of the water. You reach through to grab some, but your hands come up, dry and empty.

Fierneceal:
Your hand registers no feeling there, as if the pool did not exist.

"Dry water... interesting. I wonder what will affect it, or if it will affect us?"

Without any real warning the Blue Orb starts shaking up and down over the pool.
