Roads In All Directions: The Cloak

Fierneceal nods shakily. "I need to know. Alive or dead, safe or in captivity, whatever the case, I have to know. I need.... I need closure. I can't spend all of my time wondering."

"Your brother has been recalled."

"He... oh. Oh. I think I understand. This is relative to his uniqueness, isn't it? Okay. I see. I...." With that, Fierneceal falls back with a thump, curling up into herself and burying her face in her hands, sobbing quietly.

"...................."

Gwydo reaches over and lays a comforting hand on Fierneceal's shoulder.

Looking to the cloaked figure, Gwydo asked, "Warden, would you have any way of masking our presence or whereabouts for either a short or long term? If we are wanted fugitives, it would be beneficial if the group had the ability to hide, especially while traveling."

"Masking all of you, even temporarily, would be costly and draining, but possible. I would urge you to find other means of clandestine operation should you choose such a route, something more permanent."

"Just so we're aware of your availability," Rory asks the Warden, "how much longer are you able to talk to us, both long term and as of this conversation?"

The Warden gives off the most bizarre sound, like a thousand insects chittering across your brain. "For right now I have very little time. Say, roughly 82 more seconds. But I will be back at some point in the future, when the stone recharges."

Shortly after the Warden's image vanishes, Hanuel stands and slowly walks back towards the group, looking significantly less stress than when they left. "Sorry about the suddenness of my leaving Rory."

Rory winces at the sound of the insects. He grabs at his ears and digs through them, grabbing nothing but wax and mixing the dirt in with it. Not gabbing any, he begins smacking his head while tilting it opposite of the side he smacks to force them out, alternating between sides, grumbling about the sound of cicadas.

"what recharges the Stone?"

"Time."

Zeiss goes to his horse and prepares her for the journey ahead.

"Ah! Er, sec'nds, uh, anythin' ya be givin' us would be speedin' us on er way," Snarg sputters out, "gold, magic, food, anythin' we can be makin' use of! "

"I will give you one piece of advice. You have on your person something of significant power, no mere trinket. If it is provincial power you seek... contacts, businesses, organizations, followers, servants, soldiers... then sell it. If, on the other hand, it is personal power you seek, the ability to be stronger solely of yourself, then use it."

Gwydo heads over to the wagon and hooks up the horses. "In case the coins were tracking us, we should make haste away from here. I recommend towards the Life temple. Both for personal reasons and because it is away from 'civilization'. We should be less inclined to meet up with any bounty hunters on the way. "

"Well, i'm against selling it. But i'm not the one who can use it."

Fierneceal stands slowly to follow the others, shuffling behind but still lost in her own grief.

Rory glances over at Higs remark. "Well, not all of it. We should keep half, a quarter, at least a good portion."

"I'm talking about the Leycite, Rory."

Higaide wrote:"I'm talking about the Leycite, Rory."

Rory rolls his eyes. "Uh, duh?"

Sethos walks forwards from the back of the group into the cloaks field of vision, if it indeed has a field of vision which is unlikely given that it appears to be collectively in all of our heads.

"Given how much you know about, well, everything, and you floaty opaque appearance, I don't suppose you could tell me what is in Dereth's neighboring continent, and indeed why nobody has returned from it"

Sethos knew it was a long shot, but he thought what the hell, free information, that was rare enough to warrant a stab in the dark.

"hum Gwydo the life temple is about 13 days travel from here and i know i only have 4 days of supplies left"

"and Higs even with mine and Kolson's skill in weaveing we cant use it right"

The cloak turns slightly towards the Burun. "I assume you refer to Auburean and not Iongard, but I would avoid both if I were you. Stronger empires than yours have fallen there." The figure starts to shimmer. "Ah, our time has ended. Do not be afraid when my servant arrives." With that it winks out, leaving you with a dull, colorless 8-sided stone.
