February 19th

Araiguna looked at the Moarsmen's hand as it tightened around his axe.

replying in serpent:
"those are Awfully threatening gestures toward someone just trying to help. anyway, the elf died by being completely irradiated with magic. I'm not sure from specifically where other than in those ruins. yet another reason not to go down there."

turning to the elf and speaking elvish:
"I assume you speek the language of your kin? I realize the looks on your faces that you don't belive me, and yes, some of this does sound ridiculous. if you want the elf businessman's body I can take you to the person who personally carried what was left of him out of the ruins."

Sethos:
"And just how long is it going to be," the Dwarf raps his cane on Sethos' belly, "before ye be satisfied it's 'safe', hrm? Tusker or no, ye gotta admits, if'n we open it up to tha professionals they can shimmey on in without issue and take care o' all that sorta thing, no problem!"

Rory turned a hard gaze on Z, softening after a moment.

"Really? In that case I'll volunteer if we decide to go that way," he replied in a tone dripping with sarcasm. After finishing breakfast, he pulled out a gummy beer bottle to chew on and started making his way into the cave ruins to meet up with Snarg.

Survival 9:

Araiguna:
The Elf stares at you. Both adventurers are clearly 100% suspicious of you. "Tell you what. You lead us to this coroner of yours, no funny business, and we'll talk then. How's that strike you?"

"thats all i wanted from the start."
Araiguna motions to follow him down the path to where he last saw Sethos
to give them the body.

Sethos smiles in the hope of hiding how hugely annoyed he is by the dwarf poking his belly.

"Our thoughts exactly my dear dwarven friend, that's why we're sending some specialists down there tomorrow, once they're done checking it out and they say it's safe, you can dick around in there to your fuzzy little hearts content."

He takes a breath, looking over at caladrius he gives him a wink and turns back to the dwarves.

"Happy now?"

Araiguna:
The two adventurers follow you, never actually lowering their weapons the entire way, all the way into town and into the medical facility where the corpse has been laid. The Dwarf healer handling the place looks up, vaguely irritated. It does not take long for the Adventurers to successfully identify that this is, in fact, the Elf they are looking for. They both look at you, weapons only now lowering slightly. The Elf turns to the Healer and asks what he died from, and the Healer responds matter of factly that he died from a ridiculously massive amount of magical bombardment, of a level that would dwarf anything he's ever encountered before. Like being dipped in a ley line for a minute. This makes their eyes widen, and they look back at Araiguna once more. "We need to get into that ruin," the Elf mutters, almost unconsciously.

Sethos:
"Ah," the Dwarf's enthusiasm hasn't budged a bit, and he raps his stick on the ground a few times. "Excellent, most excellent, one day and we can begin. Oh I need to meet with people, start gettin tourism set up!" He hops off.

Sethos waves goodbye to the dwarf, his grin escaping as the dwarf gets further from him until he is on the verge of grimacing. He looks at Caladrius who looks bemused by the look.

"We need to get rid of that ship pronto".

Taku gives an agreeing yip from Sethos' hood, which brings a smile back to the burun's face.

Two hours and three gummie beers later, Rory stumbled upon Snarg on the bridge of the ship. It was one of the areas where he thought he'd likely find the Gnoll, but he didn't expect to find him passed out on the floor.

"Hey, Snarg. Snarg?" After hearing no response within several seconds, Rory jostled Snarg's body for a reaction.

"You were really out of it yesterday, don't think I haven't noticed. Did you get a late night?" he continued, unaware of the side affects of Scionic mental powers and the toll they recently took out on their new user. "At any rate, this isn't the best place to take a nap."

*Z stayed behind cleaning up camp from breakfast.*

Having finished breakfast, Gwydo escorts Fiernacel through town, intending to meet up with Snarg in the ruins.

Spoiler:

Snarg stirs a bit, slapping a hand over his head. "I'm resting," he mumbles, "unless you've got something to get rid of a headache, leave me alone for a bit. I don't want to use my mana to get rid of this every time. This ship beats you up just for talking to it..."

He sits up with a groan, although continues to keep his eyes closed. "There's some Pyreal nearby that the Dwarves could mine if they wanted - found it using the ship. Also no sign of any of our missing persons. I'll ask it some more stuff after this headache has gone away. If you've got anything really urgent, I'll cure it off myself, but I can only do that a few times."

Gwydo gently lays his hand on Snarg's forehead as a pale light envelops them. A chilling warmth embraces Snarg as if touched by a summer breeze.
Snarg sighs, his headache suddenly gone.

Lay On Hands:

"There you go, my friend. Nothing to worry about. Though I do recommend taking a break from 'talking' to the ship. At least for a little while."

In The Skyclaw:
Fierneceal looks apologetic. "Uhm, I suppose after a while you'll get used to it maybe? It doesn't really give me headaches... but then, I'm a Scion so maybe it was just designed to be run by people like me."

In Marblebush:
Caladrius nods in agreement. "That ship is a danger to... well, everything. Say, did you see Araiguna just a minute ago?" Without bothering for a response he continues, "I saw him heading towards the coroner with two rough looking adventurers. Not sure what's going on there, but I think we should go check it out."

"The most urgent thing I can think of right now is destroying that transmogrifying equipment any way we can. I propose we crush it, burn it and scatter it to the four winds--the works. Usually does the trick." Rory goes to the elevator, hand poised at the controls. He hesitates, lacking the ability to read Scionic numbers and written language, looking back expectantly at Snarg and Fierneceal. "I'm...gonna need your help."

In The Skyclaw:
Fierneceal nods at Rory. "I can come help, I think Snarg really should rest a bit more. And someone should probably stay on the bridge, just in case. Give me a second." She walks over to one of the blank panels and touches a hand to it, frowning in concentration. "Now that I know what to look for... wow." There's a couple of minutes of pause as she frowns. "There's... a lot of those things here. Enough to convert a town... or even a region into a private Tusker army. I wonder why it was never used?"

"Maybe the late captain had a conscience. Does it matter?" Rory answered from the door of the elevator, waiting patiently. "We're here to make sure it never does, and for the most obvious reason. We should start with what we know: there's one in the same room as the machines, and another on a wall further in the ruins."

Hearing the elf's personal muttering Araiguna turns around to face him simply to give a passing glance. He then waited a couple of minutes to allow for the shock of seeing the irradiated body pass.
"As I said before, I highly suggest you avoid those ruins. Me and my party encountered the source of the magic and sealed it VERY carefully. I'm sure a couple of years have been taken off of us because of it so other passers by like you don't have to deal with it. And for the record I don't like your attitude. its very...." he paused "hostile. now take the body and leave."

Sethos nods "Sounds good, I hope he's close, me and Taku are getting hungry here" he chuckles a little before gesturing to Caladrius to lead the way.

Araiguna:
"Oh, of course," the Elf nods, his tone suddenly changing completely. His Moarsman friend picks up the body and hoists it over his shoulder and the two nod at you. "Thank you very much for your assistance, we do greatly appreciate it."
You're not sure, but something seems off about their change in attitude.

"Oh! Thanks!" Snarg grins as he slaps Gwydo on the arm. "I think I'll do just that then. Fier, just send me something if you need anything from here, yep? I'll be taking it easy in the meantime. If you aren't back in a bit, I'm sure I can occupy myself again with this." Pulling out a waterskin, he leans against a console and sips on it, eyeing the other stations around the room.

"Oh, hey, feeding time, yeah?" As Snarg takes a brown package out of his pack, Zipar jumps out from a "corner" of the room and runs over. "Haven't gotten used to stuff like this yet? Hm, what am I going to do if you just hide every time something weird happens. Eh, we'll work on that, yep." He hands the bag to Zipar as the lizard sticks his head in to it. "Watch this," an amused Snarg motions to the bag, "he'll get his head stuck in it."

Rory & Fierneceal:
The two of you go and find a nearby cache of the devices. It quickly becomes apparent to you that you are superfluous to these proceedings, because there is no way for you to get close to them to do anything, no way to know when they're sufficiently broken until they're literally in pieces (aka the job is done), and no way to know if they've activated upon you (just like Araiguna had no idea). Unfortunately this also means Fierneceal, who is not known for her physical strength, is now the only person of the group who can safely destroy a few thousand objects spread out across the entire facility and Airship.

Frustrated with the object, Rory kicked at the nearest chair or table with enough force to send it skidding a few feet. "Wait," he said, "maybe these things are linked to the machines here. You think you could talk to them again to use that to our advantage?"

Araiguna noticed the apparent change in emotion and decided it would be best not to call them out on it. However, he decided to walk out at a brisk pace then once sufficiently out of sight take a full on sprint to find someone from his party not in the ruins. possibly Rory, Z, or anyone else.

Rory:
Fierneceal frowns at you. "Linked how? Or what do you mean, exactly, use to our advantage?"

Araiguna, Sethos:
Araiguna goes running out of the building only to nearly collide with Sethos and Caladrius.
