"I'm not a healer, I couldn't give you details. People just get sick easier on the bad water. Just like the plants and animals do."

"Yip, lemme see somethin'." Snarg digs in his backpack and pulls a part of rope out. He gnaws on the rope for a second and bits off a length about as long as he is. Carefully, he sticks half of the rope in to the water and leaves it there for several moments before withdrawing it and studying it carefully.

"Kolson what happened to your hand?"

Cast Scan on the normal water

"Kolson would you mind if i Scan your Hand?"

Rory had barely more than a few sips from his cup of water, which he left at the inn. He resolved to either dump it or leave it at the innkeeper's request. He was more hungry than thirsty, so he had already eaten the food, but what about the water used to make that food?

If anybody was going to truly play it safe, they'd only be able to drink and eat the goods imported from other towns. He took a few sips from his full water bottle, hoping that the clean water would further dilute the impure water he drank not long ago.

"Relax you two. Nothing ventured, nothing gained. Go ahead and scan it, Tabran."

As Tabran starts his scan, Kolson says, "While I won't be doing that again anytime soon I did find out something. I could hear a screaming in my head, as if someone or something were in great pain."

"It's ya that's in pain, here." Snarg says a few words in Undercommon while making several sharp motions with his free hand. A brief shimmer of light flows over Kolson's hand as Snarg finishes his motion.

Results of Tabran's Scan:
Kolson's hand has been magically aged, and is now weakened to the point where it will have to be tended in order to stay safe as it slowly heals. Provided he avoid further contact with the 'blood', whatever it is, he will be fine.

*Kezrinthka thinks about her still full water skin. She would be moving on from here in a few days. In the morning she would find the local healer and give it to them. Perhaps with good clean water the sick would begin to improve. She turns toward the foolish elf. The screaming in his head was an interesting thought, but she was more worried about his hand. It looked... sickly. She waited until after the scan was finished and then walked up and took his hand in hers seeing if perhaps she couldn't repair the damage.*

To your surprise the Cure doesn't seem to do anything to the hand whatsoever. Similarly, it does not appear that magical healing will be capable of resolving the damage unless the root cause is determined.

"Ahhhhhh, ya got ya hand all messed up real good. Now we gotta find what's doin' this before ya get ya hand back, yep, yep."

"from what i can tell the red water is kind of poisoned but its magical not mundane and your Hand seams to have aged as if time past a thousand time quicker for your hand than for you or as if it has had its life ripped away, as for the water the red part there is trace energy of water affinity in there"

*As she was unable to heal it, she pulls off a strip of cloth from her already ragged skirt it is obvious that she has done so before if the ragged hem is any indication, and uses this strip of cloth to bandage his hand.*

Snarg turns to the party and speaks: "We gotta get some shut eye before we doin' anythin' I'm thinkin'. Ya bind that hand up and we'll be restin' now. I ain't gonna recommend no trekin'."
