While Fierneceal talks about sharing information via mental contact, Rory searches among the long-deceased crew present for anything of value or pertinence--while refraining from any unnecessary movement or force that would cause them to further decay or fall apart.

When he heard Fierneceal mentioned passing on her ability to "read" technology, he cocked his head to one side. "Can't you already do that?" he muttered aside.

While watching Rory's search from the corner of his eye, Zeiss responds to Fierneceal :

"Okay. Maybe you can give us the ability to use that technology then. I mean... it would be unfortunate that only you can use it."

He stops talking, uncertain of how she might react to what he said.

Taking a brief break in his excitement, Snarg carefully sets down the canvas, then springs over to Fiernaceal. "Alright, now ... what do I do?"

Fierneceal gives a small laugh. "Try not to think. About, uhm, anything. Unless you want me to hear it, of course." She reaches out her hands to touch Snarg's temples, and closes her eyes.

Meanwhile, Rory has found an odd sphere which is glowing a very dull red color, flickering slightly, literally in the center of one of the piles of ash and detritus. It is unlike anything you have seen before, and seems to react to your mere presence; if you lift a hand towards it, it will flicker more often and more brightly.

Rory hesitated, drawing his hand back for worry that the sphere might have something to do with Araiguna's transformation. Then he recalled that Araiguna had never been to this area. He picked up the sphere, still hunched over the ash pile he found it in, and waited for the others to finish before speaking up.

Snarg gapes for quite a while, seemingly staring off in the distance. After some time of silence, he manages to stammer something out: "Th-this is amazing! There's so much here it's, wait, hang on..." He closes his eyes tightly.

There's a strange sensation as if you just got hit by a river unleashed from a dam and you find yourself feeling as though you're being blown back before you blink your eyes open and realize Fierneceal has removed her hands from your temples and the sensation ceases abruptly. "There, you... phew, you should be okay now. Not really used to, uhm, Gnoll minds heh." She leans against a wall, clearly spent.

Upon hearing the scream, Rory let go of the sphere. Filled with an eerie wonder, he touched the orb again, willing it to remain distinct and separate from his body. Slowly rising to his feet, he listened to the scream for around 5 seconds. He raised his voice--loud and clear, but not yelling--to get the attention of his allies. "Guys..."

Rory turned, holding the sphere up at half-arm's length from his stomach. He paused for a beat to make sure Zeiss saw the orb before explaining. "It's screaming. In my head."
