February 18th:

Rory lit his lantern and began exploring by its light, making sure to watch his step.

"Uhm no there's no power to this area," she says absentmindedly as she looks around, shivering. It's incredibly cold down here, easily below freezing. From the two lights you have going you can tell this is some sort of study or research area, and there are tables and strange instruments here and there, most in a state of disrepair. There are, of course, many of the corpse piles in chairs and otherwise too. Fierneceal shivers again. "I've... seen a place like this before too. Someplace where the study... things."

"Okay than." Snarg lights up his torch and begins waving it around, peering through the darkness. "This is the place where we don't touch anything," he warns.

When he sees that they discovered the strange equipment they were looking for, Zeiss tries to find what might have turned Araiguna in a Tusker. To Snarg's comment, he says :

"You are right. We don't want to be captured by some kind of Griever."

Rory walks up behind Fierneceal. His hand raises slightly as he contemplates putting a hand on her shoulder, but decides against it. "I'm sorry, Fierneceal."

Fierneceal turns to Rory and gives a sad smile. "It was on Vesayen Lassel, deep within and... it ..." she shakes. "It wasn't pleasant."

While neither Zeiss nor Fierneceal seem to find anything that stands out, Araiguna suddenly points to one of the devices, frowning. "I've seen one of those, way back up top," he announces. "It was embedded in a wall. Didn't do anything though."

The device in question is a plain looking device with three prongs making up its bulk, carved from what looks like a combination of Pyreal and Platinum.

"That thing?"

Zeiss walks to what Araiguna points, while making sure not to activate it, and especially not touch it.

"How does that work..."

"That thing, huh?" Snarg walks over, keeping a width berth from the device. He leans slightly forward, peering at it intently.

To you it looks like a plain, even ornamental, device. It has no obvious features, buttons, handles, or anything whatsoever. You could touch it, of course, if you'd like.

"Did you touch it?" Rory asks. "Did you do anything with it?"

In response to Rory:
"Not that I can recall. I just glanced at it while I was disarming a trap."

Talking to Fierneceal:
"Just out of curiosity, now that what I assume was the fuel line to the engine was fixed, do you think this ship is airworthy?"

Fierneceal shook her head faintly. "I believe so, but I'm really not the person to ask about that. But all its systems I was accessing earlier seemed to work."

"Well, this could potentially be really, REALLY cool! I've never flown before... and I'd rather not crash so probably best to wait until we have a good pilot that can land the thing without incident."

Gwydo pipes up, "I can fly it, fear not my tiny friend!" He laughs boisterously before pausing a moment. "Okay well I can maybe fly it..." Pause. "In a straight line."

"from what I would assume, flying is the easy part. LANDING may be tricky...."

Araiguna looks quite conflicted as he weighs the cost x benefit of having his compatriot pilot it or wait until they have a suitable pilot.
"It would be SOOO cool!"

"It would be cool," Caladrius interrupts. "Just saying. We'd be flying through the sky in a ship the likes of which the world has never seen before, ruling the skies such that none would oppose us!"

"ruling by terror is no way to rule. if one was to say we were going to rule anything anyway. This would make a perfect Home base if you will."

"Even with a powerful ship like this, we'd need people who can actually do the think-talk thing to actually operate it, yes? From what I've been told, people who can do that are not really ... available."

"Aren't there analog steering mechanisms? Gwydo said he could figure it out."

"Okay for steeringif there are, but I'm talking about everything else."

"We would also have to get it out of the ground as well as off it. You all remember why we're in this room, right? Zeiss, can you try to figure out what these things do?"

"I know nothing about this airship Rory. This is nothing like I ever seen."

Fierneceal is looking around as well with an analytical eye. "I've seen... some of these things before but nothing that would help us out. However," she points at the nearest strange artifact Araiguna recognized, "those look like they are activated by proximity. Give me a minute to try and find some notes or something."

"Proximity?" Snarg nervously backs away another foot. "Right, so don't even get close to that thing. Let us know if you find anything. I sure can't read these blank slates."
