Post-session #2: "To the gates!"
"To the gates!"
A black-scaled human paced back and forth. He stopped for a moment to look at his thick, marble door and then glance over his extravagantly furnished office. He played with a bauble on his desk, making it hover in midair. "Yes, he's late, something is wrong," he suddenly said to the air. His eyes wandered for several moments as a whispering breeze blew around his head. "No, I don't know," he said again out loud, "we thought it was Wallace's men, but this isn't how they normally operate. I'm beginning to suspect that there's another faction involved. This seems to be too purpose-driven for just random attacks." Another pause. "Yes, I have enacted the high security measures at this point. We'll be ready if there's another attempt. We have several potential spots they could strike next and we're reinforcing the perimeter just to make sure there aren't any outside surprises while we're focusing inwards."
The human glanced over at the door as a bell rang outside. "Excuse me for now, there may be other business to attend to. Hail, Ofidia." With those parting words, the breeze surrounding the human's head dissipated and he turned towards the door. "You may enter." he called out. The door slowly pushed open to reveal a dozen green-scaled Kobolds, half who were struggling to push the large door open. The human watched their efforts with a slight hint of amusement as they finally finished opening the door. They stood silent in the hallway, avoiding his gaze.
Clearing his throat, the human looked over each of the Kobolds in turn, who looked ever further towards the ground as he did so. "I don't suppose any of you would like to explain where Fik is? He was supposed to be done with his leads by now." He crossed his arms, smirking at the uncomfortable shuffles that the Kobolds where currently performing. Several tense seconds passed before one of the group stepped forward and gave a gesture of salute to the human.
"Er, overseer, I'm next-in-rank behind Fik. He, well, he got his innards all sliced up at one of the root-out points. Looks like he and his team got a little more than he could handle. Looks like they killed that necromancer we've been looking for, although it was strange ... he was all tied up when we found him. I don't know what that means." The Kobold quickly lept back behind another one after delivering his report.
The smirk faded from the human's face as he heard the report. "Well then," he said sternly, "I suppose you will be following up on his leads now? Take a century with you -- don't waste any more men on any 'special forces' nonsense. Have someone sanctify the necromancer's body and bring it here, I wish to conduct some experiments. Now LEAVE!"
The Kobolds jumped at the last word and turned quickly to run back down the hall. The human sighed and waved his hand in front of him, the door closing quickly with a loud thud. After scratching his chin for a moment with a clawed hand, he selected a small, block orb on a nearby table. "Naevius," he spoke in to it, "when you get this message, I want you to fill the temple pool immediately. We will be conducting a scrying very soon."
----------------------------------------
In the meantime, congratulations on hitting level 2! Here's the loot you found on the soldiers and Fik. The potions were already used or searched for and taken so I haven't included them in this list:
400g in gold and misc items,
2 daggers,
5 bolas,
6 spears,
6 chain mail armor,
1 studded leather armor,
3 hide armor,
3 hand axes,
6 sets of green bracers (real),
1 set of blue bracers (real),
3 sets of green bracers (fake)

Unfortunately there's not much I can use here, so I'd like to opt in for the daggers and a good chunk of gold to balance out the loot distribution of armors and weapons that the others get.

As a side note, you can assume that you can carry the loot you get with you so taking it and selling it for more gold isn't out of the question at all. You can also reforge existing items in to other items if you have the time to do so. So, if you have that one type of weapon you want, you don't have to wait for it to appear or try to find someone to buy it. Bonus if you've got the appropriate toolkit!

As much as I want better armour, I can't take the Dex Bonus cap, so there is nothing there that I want either.

I'll take the studded leather. I can't wear it yet without penalty but I'll be able to when we reach Level 3. Assuming we do.

Re: Post-session #2: "To the gates!"
If we get a party wipe, can we start the next campaign at the levels we were at previously?
After further deliberation, I would like to opt in for a spear and a set of chainmail armor. I'm basically gonna try and sell both of them.
And instead of "century" I think you mean "sentry".
Yay, level 2!
I'm gonna note the changes here for GM reference.
Arcane tradition: Evocation
Tradition Feat: Sculpt Spells
I'm intending to make my character sort of a "battle mage", in the sense that I can hold my own against melee and ranged while barraging the enemy with offensive magic. They don't list the particulars of taking a tradition in any of the other schools aside from Enchantment, Evocation and Illusion, so unless they have, we'll stick with Evocation and try going it as a straight offensive caster.
Spells per day
Level 1: 3
+2 spells: Mage Armor, Burning Hands
Conferring with the GM: I haven't used the level 1 spell Longstrider for the duration from campaign start to this point. If you'll allow it Third, I'd like to replace Longstrider with Burning Hands, which is also a level 1 spell.
Hit Die(Mage, 1d6+CON): +4

Also, if you want to take a look at the lore I mentioned in regard to the Dunmeri ancestral culture/worship, here's a link to the book I read in the game. The written contents of the book are listed after the known location listings:

Re: Post-session #2: "To the gates!"
Normally in a situation where you die your new character would start out the same level. For a complete party wipe, we'll talk about that if it comes. At the very least, everyone will probably be starting at the same level if not higher.
Keep in mind that you are not proficient in chainmail armor. If you wear it, you will not be able to cast spells while it is on.
Nope, I do mean "century". Long story short, it means they're taking around 100 soldiers.
If you can find the spells to add to your list then you can add new ones that way aside from the ones gained through leveling. For example, if you can find Burning Hands in scroll form, from another caster, or anywhere like that, you can add them to your list using the "Copy a Spell" rules. Normally spontaneous casters can swap out spells every few levels, but you are not a spontaneous caster.

Whew. Yep, it's right here in the wikipedia, Latin form centuria.
Very true, but I'm looking to get rid of a spell I've never used in favor of one more appropriate to my build. I would have taken Burning Hands at the start instead of Longstrider at level 1, but I let my personal hang-up on burning people alive get in the way. I don't advocate it, but my character isn't averse to using whatever methods are at his disposal. Is there some concern regarding metagaming?

Re: Post-session #2: "To the gates!"
I just don't want to have people swapping out spells when they normally couldn't if one wasn't useful in a single combat. In addition to eliminating the need to select spells carefully, they're not designed to all be used in a single session. Not using a single spell in two short sessions is incredibly common. Not using a single spell for multiple levels is very common. Basically I'm encouraging you to stick with the spell. Movement increasing spells are incredibly useful both in and out of combat. You probably will want it the upcoming sessions if you have to make a getaway.
If you really feel like you need Burning Hands, then I would recommend taking it as part of your spells you get at level increase instead of Chill Touch. If you're just looking for damaging increasing stuff, remember you can double-up on spells, i.e. prepare multiple instances of a single spell.
Remember to ask other sorcerers if you want to trade spells. A lot of the time they'll just do it for free as long as you offer something they don't have either. You've met several casters so far (although one was unfortunately assassinated in the safehouse) who might want to trade spells.
