So I am moving my weaving questions here to stop derailing the post-discussion thread.

I have an amulet of deception +2. How difficult would it be to change it from +2 to let's say +8?

How difficult would it be to weave boots of diplomacy +7?

I have a mask of +1 AC. How difficult would it be to change it to +4?

I've mentioned before that you can't actually 'upgrade' items so I'll mention it again.  *pause*  You can't actually 'upgrade' items.

Diplomacy +7 wouldn't be too difficult.

Then I haven't been too much attention. Sorry. Being incapable of weaving, I didn't focus too much on this thread. NEVER AGAIN WILL I MAKE SUCH A MISTAKE!

I can safely assume that weaving a different amulet of +8 deception wouldn't be too difficult either?

It all depends on the heart of the dice.  But in general non-Weaving skill boosts are the third easiest type of thing to Weave.

So I talked with Kolson and he said he was okay with the requests Zeiss will make to his character. So here it is :

Boots of diplomacy +8.

Amulet of deception +8.

And try to take out the -8 damage to the dark amber ring I got recently.

Will use AP if needed in the three cases.

What's uh Kolson's Weaving skill?

And I will remind you again you really can't edit existing magic items so removing that -8 damage is unlikely

Perhaps an attempt to remove half of the damage penalty?

Yeah, it's 23.

So instead of editing the ring, I will ask for a ring of deception +8 on top of the other two items I already asked for.

And the message is clear now : no editing at all.

Result: Standard success.  Costs 2 CXP to make and takes 5 hours.

Amulet of deception +8.

Result: Standard success.  Costs 1 CXP to make and takes 6 hours.

Ring of Deception +2

Result: Barely success.  Costs 3 CXP to make, and takes 5 hours.

3 AP blown.  6 CXP blown.

Okay, thank you.

Kolson also asked me if there was a way to weave an item that allows weaving to go faster. He said that even 1/25 faster would be worth it.

A year since I posted in this thread. Huh.

I have these two items:


  • Jagged Granite Hookblade of the Assassin: 3d4, +4 Material. Does double damage to targets at full health.  Successful attacks leave a DOT.
  • Jagged Granite Hookblade of Wounding: 3d4, +4 Material. Does double damage to targets below half health. Successful attacks leave a DOT.


Are these weapons' effects magical? And if not, could they be woven into living weapons?
