Right then, we'll do the control hubs. Even if a few infantry do get out, I'm sure the Olthoi have a volunteer reluctant defense squad that should be able to deal with them before we shut down the launch deck, and I'll be hanging onto Gwydo's every word as to how we'll do that between the two of us. Maybe we'll be able to get into the system and get the ship's layout.

Re: 11-25-13 Post Session
I have like a million questions. :p
1. Why would they have so many backup power sources that capturing and destroying the engine room would make no difference? Wouldn't that be impractical for ship design, especially for a ship of the frigate class? I mean, you would need a whole army of engineers and a hold full of replacement parts which increases the power draw and weight of the ship dramatically, making it slower, less maneuverable, and more costly to run and maintain.
2. How do the guns load without crews? For that matter, how do they hit anything without a gunnery team? Are they straight-shooting magic beams? How do the turrets move? What happens when a gun jams or otherwise becomes blocked? Do the turrets pull into the superstructure or are they always out?
3. What ratio of crew to marines do ships this size usually have? How many troops do they carry? How are they deployed?

Knowledge engineering +11 on all these questions if necessary.

Re: 11-25-13 Post Session
1: The design for Airships of this size (actually for Destroyers and larger) relies on having one primary power source to... well, power much of the ship, but then the actual things that keep the ship up, moving, and maneuverable are segregate. This is partially as a redundancy but mostly as a necessity as one engine core, by the 'technological' level of development the nations have, cannot keep the ship going by itself. On some LARGER ships there are separate cores for things such as weapons and internal life support. Why it'd take some kind of madman to have a single point of power for an entire ship.
2: I could answer this literally but just picture Star Wars and it's pretty accurate. If that's too much for you, just think FFXII (also known as Star Wars).
3: There's no standard for this, really. But I will give you a gimme since Zeiss saw how many were deployed topside; for that many troops to be there it's likely this ship has about a 2:1 ratio of crew to marines, which is pretty damn high.

Land next to the pilot's area, capture it, and turn the ship upside-down, heheheh. Shake it like a Polaroid picture!

Ha!
@Arch Thanks. I'm going to be a bit late to the session tomorrow so go ahead and start without me. I wish I had an ETA but I don't, sorry.
Have fun storming the castle guys! I'll hate you forever if you get us all killed! :p

Y'know I've been strongly considering what to do if people die in this assault.
Anyways, the main point. Found some much better pictures to get an idea across of this Frigate.

Re: 11-25-13 Post Session
I've decided to force you all to pick a sprite from FF4, 5, or 6 to represent your token on the grid. While I admit some aesthetic reasons for picking this, ultimately they work beautifully in the newly designed format. FFVI sprites in particular fit perfectly.
To clarify, I'm referring to what is usually referred to as the 'overworld' sprites, nothing large nor combat related. That being said for those of you unaware of the options, here's some helpful links.

The only sprites 'reserved' are Geshtal, Kefka, and virtually all of the standard soldiers (Returner, Doma, Figaro, or Imperial).
Edit: If anyone's curious of my thoughts on recommendations.
Kolson: Setzer
Rory: Sabin
Javan: Mog
Gwydo: Edgar or Cyan
Z: Terra
Higaide: Locke
Zeiss: Shadow

Yeah, can't really see any other sprite fitting Rory better than Sabin.

Yup, Setzer for me. Blackjack and Celes were my favorite songs from the soundtrack and I have a soft spot for scoundrels with iconic ships. ^_^

I'll take Shadow's sprite, sure. In fact, I'll steal his sprite from him!
*Butterflies attack the FF character and bring his clothes to Zeiss.*
Here's a question. I don't know how these specialized airships we are riding look like, but is it feasible to use the one I am piloting as a weapon to crash into the launch deck area of the Naverre airship? I would, of course, use my Air Vent power to get out before it flies into the airship. Knowledge engineering +11 if necessary.
I doubt you will say yes, but hey, why not ask? Maybe there would be an explosion big enough to incapacitate a big portion of their troops.

Updated with choices.
Also as a heads up I'm rewinding the current campaign about 1 minute for reasons I'll explain in person.
