Re: What's your theme song?
Current theme for Ekai is "Pub" from FFT.
Here's a link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9VI4U7u_cSs
It's got a quirky melody, plus that quirky instrument, I wanna say...bassoon? And it alternates between perky and aloof, an odd combination, which is what you recognize when see someone behaving friendly, though remaining obvious in his or her attempt to remain anonymous, not bothering to hide the fact that he or she is not showing his or her face, creating a certain social dissonance--not an intimidating vibe(something to be afraid of) or a creepy/strange one(somewhere in the uncanny valley), but an odd vibe, at least as far as someone would understand given what they know and don't know about the person's preference for anonymity, especially because they have no hints to go on other than the anonymous person's cheerful behavior and harmless nature.
Upsetting new development: links cannot be color-coded. Shame on you, forumotion, shame on you.

@Gwydo
Well no, Zeiss' theme is from Berserk Golden Arc III, which is the third movie in a movie series adaptation of the anime series.

After considerable thought, and now that I have a character to add to this list, I think this is the theme that I feel would best suit Sorangath. Yes, the whole thing, a person isn't just one part after all. And please ignore the name of the theme, the Lich King connotations aren't related here.

God sometime I would love to make a Lawful Good Maglancer user with a focus on Intimidation, Diplomacy, Deception, Appraise, Acrobatics, Athletics, and some Stealth, just so I could use this as his theme: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dXVCd3BD-nM
Actually, I'd want to play whatever L.A. Noire theme is most appropriate to the situation when he happens to be there.
To a Gnoll: "You're a former Stonehold citizen, you had opportunity, and a motive! You sure there's nothing else marinating in that thick skull of yours, Mister 'Wild Paw'? My partner would love to make you for this." Holtburg Noire. I can see it clearly.
More on the serious side(hard to follow that), DEKE'S THEME is Null Sheen from Shadowrun Returns. And yes, the whole track, just like Arch said about his character's theme.
Check. It. Out.

You're lying, Third. You hate these themes. In fact, I think you took a trip to New York last night, broke into Arch's home, took his original music, wiped his copies and then, you butchered them. You cut a verse here, pasted it there, cut the tail end of an outro and tacked it on at the beginning of different track! Then, you burned them and uploaded their mutated remains online after nobody could recognize them! You're very proud of your "work" aren't you, Third?

Calm down chummer, don't want to piss your gm off before the party starts. He may decide to geek you with a wizworm right off and then where will you be? Making a new rook that's where. Nothing worse than a trip to the jabroni factory in the first session, yeah?

I'm just going hardcore on the reference, Kolson. Speaking of making new rooks, what new character are you working on?
And I just love the process of making a new character, I really do. It's very exciting for me.

Re: What's your theme song?
Yeah, I like making new characters too. I'm still going back and forth on buying a mic/headphone & mic so I can play in the game. I really am torn about it.
If I do, I'm thinking of a human or half-elf bard.
If I do, I'm thinking of a human or half-elf bard.
- The Bard:
- The bard would be named Jon Rose, age 25. He was a bit of a prankster in his youth, but he always had a way with people so he ended up being pretty popular. This became especially important when, at the age of 14, he snuck into the local tavern to nick some booze for his friends.
While there he noticed a travelling minstrel performing. A very drunk and very belligerent traveling minstrel. Jon didn't much care for that but was going to let it slide until Drunkee McSingee started butchering his favorite song. So he decided to teach him a lesson.
Sneaking over, Jon switched out his bottle of wine with a bottle of piss that he had whipped up (more like whipped out, am I right?). When the minstril took a big swig and began coughing and spitting it up, Jon laughed right along with all the patrons. When he finally recovered enough to speak "Pissdrinker," as the locals would refer to him evermore, went on a great tirade, disparaging the village and the parentage of the whoreson who played the trick and going on and on about how important he was.
Not taking too kindly to that, young Jon yelled right back, calling him on his drunken performance. One thing led to another and the minstrel challenged him to do better than him. So Jon did, to great applause from the audience. By then Pissdrinker had had quite enough of this treatment and he retired to his room in a great rage. The next morning, he slunk out of the village never to be seen again.
Meanwhile, unknown to Jon, a rival of the minstrel happened to be in the audience and she was greatly impressed with Jon's little performance. The next day, she tracked him down, offering to take him on as her apprentice. How she convinced him is a story for another time, but train him she did. About a year ago she realized she had nothing left to teach him so she cut him loose in true bard fashion ordering him to "Piss off and figure out the rest on your own." They had a great laugh at her clever turn of phrase and parted on good terms.
He's been wandering around ever since, plying his trade from village to village so this is the first time he's ever been to the area.

Re: What's your theme song?
So, after Kolson gave me a little summary of what happened in Marblebush, I tried to find a song that could represent Zeiss' mind at this moment, after discovering everything that happened (the discovery of that goblin woman being the worse).
There, that's Zeiss' mind. Especially the first two minutes. Now, I need to see some cute cats or something. I wasn't even there for the end of the session, but I don't think I'll be able to sleep if I don't clear my mind first.

Re: What's your theme song?
Well, since I really like Alan Wake...and I was drunk...and I really like Alan Wake, this is what I think would be appropriate for Rory!
Imagine this: he's getting back with his alcohol, and cut to the rest of the group, who's just seen what's out there. Rory walks in, and the music is now at 26 seconds in, when they're reacting(verbally or silently) to his ignorance/confusion. Then, imagine at 50 seconds in, he's opening the door, and the cinematic view of the outside is cut off by his silhouette in the doorway. Then, at 56 seconds, the view cuts to his face, which is emotionless shock. 1 minute and 3 seconds in, cuts a little closer to his eyes. Then, at 1 minute and 7 seconds, cut back to the previous view of his face, then zoom out a little in a rotation to over-the-shoulder, and a view of the crater can be seen, and the view fully reaches and stops directly over his shoulder with a perfect view of the crater at 1 minute and 18 seconds.
Cinematics are over now, and Rory's just standing there, steadying himself(cuz he's still kinda drunk) until the music ends, then he runs back inside.
And if we're talking mental states, Rory's won't have music until the party is off to fight something he can blame for this, and it's within visual range and we're about to roll Initiative.

I'd have to upload the song I had in mind, for it's one of my own Variances.
Also ARGH. I was almost done writing up the summary when I lost the post.

Re: What's your theme song?
I like your songs guys. They fit the event.
Though the reason why I chose this song instead is simple. Arch talked once about a piece of music in Earthbound (I think) which played in a strange village. The music wasn't good at all, but it fitted the ambience perfectly for it was really chaotic.
What I chose isn't the best track in the Berserk soundtrack. But it fits Zeiss' mental state.

Psychoanalyze my playlist...
I couldn't think of a better place to put this, so here it shall be...
I realized something this morning and wanted to share.
What does it say about me when my playlist (unconsciously placed in this order mind you) has the following songs:
Europe - The Final Countdown
Ozzy Osbourne - Bark at the Moon
Andre Fratto & Leah Siegel - Theme from "Haven"
Animotion - Obsession
Sinnerman by Felix da Housecat feat. Nina Simone
Metisse - Boom Boom Ba
Molly Hatchet - Flirtin' With Disaster
Spiderbait - Ghost Riders in the Sky
The Heavy - Short Change Hero
The White Buffalo - Oh Darling, What Have I Done
Golden Earring - Twilight Zone
Blue Oyster Cult - (Don't Fear) The Reaper

Re: What's your theme song?
I know I'm weird for liking video game music but what gets to me sometimes is when a particular song is just flat stuck in my head (good example: The Dark World Forest/Mountain theme from Link to the Past). So uh THIS has been in my head for the past 2 weeks solid. Keeps making me want to replay the game.
