While there is nothing obviously masking the boy like before, it occurs to you given the previous experience with this type of thing that whatever it is that has altered them to allow the Abominations to exist might be attempting to force Elemental energy upon a Desolation. Which would explain many things.

"That is a trick answer," Rory growled. "The question was for a means to get her back, not attract her."

"HAN you still have the mirror Key?"

To your surprise, the creature responds to Rory. "If you prefer, I could be less helpful and simply tell you that you have it not in your power to retrieve her by any means."

Rory's eyes narrowed, and he turned away."Does anybody else want to ask a question?"

"What would we do with it Tab?"

"it reflects the elements right?"

"Right... are you suggesting...?"

"touch it to the Boy, if it dosnt work nothing lost?"

"I ain't knowin' why he's showin' us all this," Snarg growls, "maybe ya askin' 'em why he's doin' that; why he's doin' showin' us this boy's past?"

Zeiss turns to Snarg.

"Probably to make it more difficult to kill him. Or easier. Whatever you prefer."

"It might trigger the transformation into an abomination as well..."

Snarg shakes his head. "That ain't it. Ya ain't convincin' me that nightmare's havin' problems killin' a kid."

"well we are fast running out of options?"

Zeiss answers to Snarg again.

"It's not because he looks like a monster that he is one. You're not really good looking either Snarg."

Snarg shakes his head again. "Nah, it ain't makin' no sense to be doin' that. Loads o' easier an' better ways to be doin' it if ya ain't wantin' to be doin' it ya self."

"Yeah, there's no way I'm touching the boy with it. It's far to dangerous."

"I wouldn't risk it this early. We have to try other things."

Kolson walks up and joins Rory and Fier in front of the Nightmare. "What do you and your masters hope to achieve through what we perceive as chaos?"

Thinking on the second question for a bit, Rory skips a beat while Kolson gets the answer to his question.

"You seem honor-bound, if appearing something else entirely," Rory asked in a low, steady tone. "I have a favor for you... Tell Kez we miss her."

"I'll find you.."Hanuel speaks in a low voice after Rory and Kolson. "I'll find out what you're doing, and I'll set this all right. I won't let you torture people and get away with it." Hanuel's voice carries sadness, but their form bristles with anger.
