February 17th: Marblebush

"...That's really mysterious for an answer. Fine. She it is."

He turns to Gwydo and says to him :

In Lugian:

*Z raises an eyebrow at the switch of language. And mutters in skittish.*

skittish:

*she rolls her eyes eating her dinner.*

Zeiss frowns at Z's usage of another language he could not understand. He knew it was skittish though. He continues to eat. When he is finished, he will go to sleep, taking turns with the others for the watch.

*Z finishes her dinner and cleans up. Sumomo is passed out in her tent by the time she is done. She then goes to bed*

Before going to sleep, Zeiss goes back to town to warn the others that everything is fine and explain that he prefers to sleep outside of town.

Spoiler:

Zeiss:
You are keeping watch dutifully when you hear an unusual sound you cannot identify. It sounds vaguely beast-like, and is coming from the direction of the town.

Everyone At Town:
You find it very difficult to maintain a restful sleep, what with all the racket going on outside. It isn't overly loud, but there is a continuous series of odd, intermittent noises of bashing and thumping coming from outside the Inn.

Zeiss shakes up Z and Gwydo. Then whispers to them :

"Come on little flowers. Wake up! There is something in town. Surely that Tusker-like creature Snarg talked about..."

He gets his rapier ready. Rainbow, afraid of the sounds, goes to hide in one of the pockets of his sack.

*Sumomo snuggles into her specially made pouch as Z throws her cloak around her and sets off to town with the others.*

As the noises grow louder, Snarg grumbles and straps on his gear. He makes his way out to the ruins with anyone who wishes to follow.

Spoiler:

The noise wouldn't let Rory sleep. Disgruntled, he grabbed his axe at the ready and left the inn to investigate.

As you return to the surface, or exit the Inn, you see a very small, barely 8 foot tall Tusker with dull, light brown fur wandering almost aimlessly through the town.

Snarg freezes in place. Wide-eyed, his eyes follow the Tusker as it wanders around the area.

Spoiler:

Zeiss separates himself from the Z and Gwydo when he sees the Tusker, but decides to stay at most twenty feet away from them. He observes the Tusker from far away.

Spoiler:

*Z stops and observes the tusker as well.*

Spoiler:

"Are we gonna stand around all night just looking at it?" Rory asked. "I'm tired."

Snarg furiously makes a shushing motion, shaking his head "no" as he pulls off an incredibly convincing full-on panicked face.

The Tusker whirls towards the source of the sound, making rough, aggravated sounds as it pounds the ground excitedly, inching away from you and tensing all its muscles up.

"E-easy now..." Snarg opens his hands and lays his hands out flat, taking a few steps backwards. "Not going to do anything to you. Here, here, you want something to eat?" He slowly pulls out some food and water rations, laying them down after taking a bite and sip of them. "It's good, see?" He backs away further from the food and drink.

Spoiler:

The Tusker lunges up at astonishing speed to grab the food, before thundering right back to the middle of the square. It sits there, sniffing them idly while not taking its eyes off you.

Snarg yipes softly and instinctively jumps backwards as the Tusker lunges forward.

Spoiler:

Zeiss sheathes his rapier then approaches the Tusker, planning to stay at a good distance from him. Careful to not appear threatening, and really worried that this Tusker could easily kill him, he says :

"Hello... my name is Zeiss. You are far away from the Dires... are you lost?"

He waits to see if the Tusker can comprehend him. While looking at him, he decides to sit on the ground.

"It doesn't look like you want to be here."

With astonishing speed the Tusker comes barreling up at Zeiss, who just barely dodges out of the way, though his maneuver was apparently unnecessary in this case as the creature stopped right before you and begins slamming his arms into the ground, grunting and roaring off-puttingly at the Elf.

Rory raises his axe and puts one foot forward in a defensive gesture, threatening the beast to back off.

Zeiss begins breathing rapidly, observing the Tusker and trying to figure out a way not to die.

"Hey hey... no need to kill me, okay? That would be really messy, lots of blood everywhere. It is not the first time we met a Tusker. The one we talked to was named O'ulan'takangaskan. Know him? Big, really big Tusker. Bigger than both of us. We freed him from bad people."

Javan, who was curiously following the stomping human outside, suddenly froze on the spot when he saw Rory being threatening to a creature that was too big for the fairy to care for, on the top of the same creature being too close to a panicked Zeiss.

"Isn't that a...", the fighter whispered mostly to himself, and tried to reach for his new weapon while keeping Rory between himself and the creature until the fairy felt weaponized enough to take the human's side on the threatening role.
