Rellan and Araiguna approach the forum, and begin asking around about the Governor. It turns out this particular region lays within the Al-Jalima State, and the Governor is Tol'tarn of Amani, a Troll of considerable repute. He is going to be visiting personally in just 2 days to sort out the troubles Al-Erat is having, as the proceeds from the rich farming in the area contribute a large portion of the State's income and seeing it cut back so severely is unacceptable.

Hanuel and Sethos encounter a fairly well-appointed looking Banderling, dressed in fine robes. He sees you approach and immediately attempts to sell several pieces of Pyreal jewelry to you, which you politely decline and begin asking about the Sho situation. He looks rather pointedly at Sethos before hesitantly informing you that, from what he understands, the real threat is of an economic nature. The Sho have superiority of numbers, while the Naverre have the advantage of more advanced technology, but much of the strength of the Naverre rests on her trade, and the Sho are incredibly likely to take over or blockade important trade hubs to strangle that advantage down. While Al-Erat is not as wealthy as some of the mining townships, nor as lucrative as the underground Magicite and Pyreal mines, the fact remains that it is far less defended than any of those, and would make a relatively easy target given how much platinum flows through this place.

Turning to Hanuel "I suppose it's possible the Sho could be using the gnolls, either to exhaust the defenses or simply gauge they're number, but if they have such superior numbers then why bother? And why take such a risk with this conspiracy when there's all this instability?" He rubs his head, trying to make sense of everything in his mind.

After thinking it over some more Sethos breaks his silence. "No, the Sho wouldn't trust gnolls with this kind of thing, they'd send undercover agents, saboteurs, not petty thugs, no it's got to be a coincidence".
