The Fight For Javan

The dragoon, quite unsure on how to best utilize his theory properly under the circumstances, decides instead to keep both Aspects in direct physical contact with his crystals at all times from now on, hoping the moment they unleash their Desperation attack that even if they do not become the strongest Elemental energies in the area, their physical contact with the crystal will make them take precedence over Higaide and the Corvette.

He will also shout for Higaide to run the hell away from there, and will in fact attempt to do the same in Scionic language, additionally transmitting the conclusion he reached and what he's attempting to do if it works, in the unlikely chance there's someone or something that can act as an 'antenna' for that.

Sadly in the moment Javan is having trouble determining if his attempts at Scionic mindspeak are functioning at all, though he doesn't seem to 'read' anything else in the area. Meanwhile, as of this point the Aspects have now successfully dragged him several feet towards one of the nearby Mages, who is cowering up against a building's edge in an attempt to stay stable amidst the localized tornado. The woman in question, still a bit bloodied from Higaide's earlier attack, has already cast a spell and is preparing to unleash it. She shouts something over the torrent about "Get him down!" Right about now the other mages try to cast at Javan but only one succees, hitting him for 22 subdual Fire damage. The Corvette seems to have realized how bad things are and is attempting to flee but it's clear its controls don''t seem to be working quite right, and it ends up sliding sideways straight into a building, knocking brick and mortar all across the area.

It is Higaide's turn once more. The pitch of the storm seems to have accelerated a note.

Yeah, you know what? Javan's fate will be the same as mine.

Knowing he's probably being stupid, but unwilling to leave Javan to his fate, Higaide charges in at one of the aspects. Burn charge for concentration if need be (current ammo = 40, btw), and burn charge for stopping power (and if the AP i burned a while ago wasn't my Combat one, burn my Combat AP as well), so that my Flurry of Blows + Monkey Beats the Gong (if it connects) will at least force one of the damn things off of Javan.

Also, hoping the energy released from the Charges will keep my own from getting sucked (if that's what's happening), for at least a bit. As for where they'll end up being sucked to, i'm pretty sure my puny output can't compete with that of a Corvette anyway.

Higaide pummels into the Water Aspect, managing a fairly impressive amount of damage, making it roll two consecutive Concentration checks to hold onto Javan, one of which it fails, causing it to fall to the ground, also allowing Higaide an additional attack on it. Both Charges are burnt, though no AP remains. The energy released immediately rockets out of Higaide as he expends it, zapping into Javan, which seems to escalate his difficulties.

It is Javan's turn... and he is conscious enough to realize this is his last turn before whatever is happening finishes happening.

Javan is going to do his best to move far away from Higs and everyone else, since warning wasn't enough.

Javan takes a brief glance around. It seems he could head east, towards the Corvette... north, towards the remainder of the mages... west, towards the battle... or south, towards where the Scarves were. Or some other variance.

Javan decides to head north towards the mages, thinking that among the things that could go wrong, that would be the least destructive to everyone involved.

Javan fails his Concentration at trying to move at all, instead struggling under the weight of the remaining Aspect and effectively remaining pinned to the spot. The other Aspect, the one Higaide knocked down, gets hands on him and starts to drag him again. The win that has been building in intensity this entire time stops, without any warning, going still and dead as if nothing had ever happened, and for a moment there's silence in the street before an ear-shattering crack emanates out from Javan himself, sending a visible shockwave to hit everything within about a mile. The Corvette plummets to the ground, landing with a horrible shriek of metal and concrete smashing into one another, the Aspects vanish, and everyone present is sent to the ground. Any Woven or otherwise magical items present are currently completely nonfunctional (this includes the party's equipment).

For all intents and purposes, Initiative is over. Javan manages to wake up first, blinking oddly at the suddenly peaceful sky. Higaide gets there next, a few seconds later. Fortunately, Kolson and his squad were still far enough out to not get hit by the shockwave, but they sure as hell saw it. Kolson's Knowledge of the situation allows him to deduce that something has removed all the magical energy from the area somehow.

Higaide will check the surroundings, and check Javan's condition.

Javan appears to be relatively normal, as much as he can be with crystals sticking out of his skin and scarf. The Mages and bum appear to still be unconscious. The Corvette is several hundred feet that way, making no noise, and at a slant and half buried into a building, with bricks and concrete chunks scattered over the hull. The area around here is also incredibly dark, to the point where Higaide is having trouble looking around in general given how incredibly dark it is. Every Magicite lamp in visual range is shut off. It's a good thing the District was already mostly evacuated due to the attack, otherwise there would probably be quite a bit of clamor right now... but by contrast it's almost completely silent.

Javan quickly takes off his helm and goes look for his backpack, as he knows inside there is torch for light and rope for binding the survivors, saying nothing at all as he works towards that goal.

Higaide does the same. Will have to use some of Javan's rope, though.

Out of curiosity, in what order are Higaide and Javan binding people?

As an aside, Rory is no where near him but I will need to know where he's participating in the major battle still waging over there.

Rory would most likely be with the Exchange's forces.

Okay so... WHERE, I need more details lol. Which force.

Javan would start with the melee combatants, then the green mages, then the mages.

Higaide will start with the leader - the woman who was giving orders near the end of the battle. After that, he'll go with whoever seems to be in the best condition (likely to wake up the soonest and be the bigger threat) and work his way down. If unclear on that front, he'll start with the mages - especially the Yellow ones, like the people who cast slow on him, since they're usually the most unpredictable (and can sometimes Exit on you, which i find very rude).

Javan is just finishing tying up the bum when he awakens, looking around with blurry eyes. It takes him a moment to realize he's bound, and he begins trying to free himself, still somewhat dazed. Javan rolled sufficiently well that he fails a few times before looking around him at the near dead-black darkness, and he goes very quiet. The Mages, by contrast, are completely unmoving. The first one anyone checks is barely breathing.

The fairy frowns as he confirms that his healing kits are not working at all. He finally turns to speak to Higaide while taking some of the rope and measuring it, his face under the torchlight looking paler than usual, "Healing kits are dead, and the cloak Kolson gave me doesn't feel like it's working, so my guess is that the mages are out of mana as well. Higs, I'm going to check the airship, see if there are survivors. Shout if you need anything."

Not really expecting an answer, the dragoon promptly goes searching for his spear, but quickly hurries towards to the Corvette whenever he finds it or not, figuring they don't have much time to prepare before someone comes check what just happened.
