February 18th:

Rory sighed and stepped inside with the Gnoll. "Fine."

He begins searching for the source of the problem, albeit giving a higher priority to any valuables he finds within.

Snarg:
After some searching it becomes clear that this damage was done by a Tusker.

The inside of the ship is eerily quiet. Here and there are piles of long-decayed rags ruins, piles of rust, and other detritus. You find nothing of note or worth amongst any of them, but the ship itself... floor, ceiling, controls, the like... all seem to be in perfect condition.

As he examines the damage inside the hole, Snarg comments out loud: "This hole was made by a Tusker, but does that mean Araiguna went all the way in here? I thought he hadn't, unless..." He nervously looks around, flicking the torch every which way. "Someone might want to get in here that can do something. I've got no idea how to work any of this."

Once Z finally releases him, Snarg explains how the damage was done.

"A Tusker...? I hope it was Araiguna."

He looks around and examines the hole.

Spoiler:

"...This hole is not the only damage done to this airship. There must be something else further in."

"Yeah, this wasn't made by Araiguna - it's at least twice the size. That's ... not good." Snarg exhales deeply and draws his greatsword out with one hand, resting it on his shoulder. "Anyone have any idea what's going wrong yet? If we need to go deeper, let's all head out together, just in case we run into whoever made this hole."

Rory drew his axe, but waited on the opinions from others before giving his input. "Well, if it was bigger, I'd say we have another roaming Tusker problem, but they aren't supposed to be outside the Dires, right? I wonder if maybe our friend, 'Olun', made it to Aluvia, and did this himself. At least, that's what I'd hope for. We should count ourselves very lucky to be able to hope for that, but I don't know enough to understand why he would do this."

*Z moves through the air ship following the trail of destruction, assuming that at its end she would find the cause of the magic leakage.*

Gwydo follows Z, investigating the damage and trying to find the source.

"it may be possible that the owner of this ship may have the same affliction I do. It would make sense if he was a much larger gentleman than I. That doesn't make him any less dangerous though..."

Snarg follows Z and Gwydo through the ship, waggling his torch into every dark crack and crevice.

As the group continues through the eerily quiet, thrumming halls of the ship, passing more and more of the piles of debris and rust, you realize Fierneceal is almost on the verge of tears. "This..." the word catches in her throat, and she has to steady herself. "This was a Scionic ship. These," she gestures at the piles, "...these used to be people."

"Oh-what?" Snarg steps cautiously around the piles. He remains quiet for several moments and then softly speaks to Fiernaceal. "Did ... you know them? What happened here?"

"No I, uhm... I've seen this before." She looks genuinely disturbed. "In... some Scion facilities, there were just piles, old and ancient and strange. We found out later that the people ... inside their clothing, their armor, the... people just... we're not sure what happened exactly but all the Scions, across the world, just vanished in an instant. And I guess," she looks around, sadly, "that these were no exception. But," she frowns, "Why were people inside here, in an airship facility, hundreds of feet below the ground?"

"tending to the airship most likely. I imagine it would take quite the crew to fly one of these without crashing horribly into a hillside."

Snarg nods at Araiguna. "Yeah, looks like they were caught off-guard or something. Guess whoever or whatever they were hiding this from found them anyway."

"well, theyre not much use to us dead, but they may have left something behind..."
Araiguna goes toward the pile of rubble and starts sifting through it to try to find anything of value, or usefulness.

Spoiler:

"Yeah, every..." she looks faintly ill, "Every other example I've seen of this it was clear the people were caught completely by surprise. I still have no idea what happened." She shivers. "The uhm," she starts babbling to distract herself, "the ship itself seems to be feeding off some tremendously powerful magical power source to keep it in as good of shape as it is, it'd probably take some deliberate sabotage to prevent the ship from repairing itself like it hasn't."

Araiguna:
Whatever used to be in the pile has long, long since decayed from centuries of neglect. You find nothing whatsoever of use.

Snarg stiffens and casts a sideways glance at Fiernaceal. "I ... I wouldn't do that. Leave them for right now. Let's continue on to that power source Fiernaceal is talking about."

"well, as i thought. nothing."
Araiguna then looks up turning his head over each shoulder, both of his ears were up and alert as he was looking for the source of the immense magic seeping into the room.

Sethos strolled non-chalantly through the facility, following what he imagined was the route of his fellow adventurers. He eventually came to the hanger and saw the airship, silent right up until the moment he realised what was sitting before and below him, at which point it jumped up as high as he could several times, whilst making what could be best described as a yipping noise. He then ran down the staircase that he saw his companions were standing at the bottom of. He stopped half way down to take a pipe break before continuing his descent and reaching the hole in the ship's side.

Sethos leans into the ships innards and gives an echoing shout through it's halls "Hello!? If you hear me give me a shout so I can find you!"
