I'm perfectly fine with starting with 4 action points.

With 24 I will say you manage the hat AND with no CXP cost. You have to keep track of it though I'm afraid, it will not return hence.Kolson Wesrae wrote:Archengeia wrote:
Not the best roll but that puts you at 21, not too shabby. I'm going to say you succeed, but no additional bonuses and it costs... 2 CXP total. Unless you've done anything I don't know about that leaves you with 2 CXP remaining.
Nope, no side shenanigans. Yet.
Let's try that hat next. I'm really liking the idea of it.

Alright that pushes you up to 20. I'm going to give you the option of increasing the bonus to +4 on Survival or removing the CXP cost down to 0, but not both.

I'll take the CXP cost to 0, and if possible, can I weave my buckler shield to have an extra +1 AC?

Darn. Perhaps I'll upgrade it some time for returning qualities. Or make a new one. I'm not really sure how that works.
Anyway, let's try that armor now.

That will be a very difficult roll, as in you might flat out fail. A flat failure MAY cost you CXP (just 1) if you roll particularly poorly, so that is up to you.
...and this whole experience has led me to something. Can I please, please ask you guys to include your bonus to Weaving in any posts where you do that, because I don't have copies of everyone's character sheets saved locally and pulling them up was most of the delay in responding to these posts.

21 makes the armor just barely at 2 CXP with no additional bonuses. Also, for balancing issues I decided not to allow upgrading except under exceptional circumstances, but making a new hat is something you can do later. And yes, I am willing to let you upgrade your hat for the reason that it's your HAT DAMMIT. Very Pirates of the Caribbean there.

I'm glad that is done. Though I'm a little disappointed my rolls were middling at best at least I didn't fail any.
Edit: Oh, and huzzah on the hat upgrading!

23 is going to be good enough to only set you back 1 CXP for that, congrats.

What if I were to weave a book that took anything that was written in it and translated it into common?

Re: Questions For The GM
Given my characters staring point, I can think of two things that should be crafter.
First is a Robe. Ideally this is not an ordinary robe, being a Mage, I really can’t ware any armor but I think I should weave a robe with an increased armor value, or because my dex is so high, weave a robe that allows me the ability to dodge.
Second thing is a quarter staff, Again like the above, I see this going two ways, either go for a higher quality quarter with an additional buff stats. Or going a totally different direction and make the quarter staff metamorphic, i.e. It had the ability to shift into another form Quarter Staff -> Sword. (Limited by times a day)
Gee maybe I should have been a red mage LOL

Re: Questions For The GM
Last minute questions.
I'm a rogue and I put 7 HP for my character when it is 1d6. Why did I do that? Is it correct?
I have five action points. Is it correct? Because I think I read somewhere we only could have four of them.
That is all.

HP is always class hit die + CON modifier.
Action points is (character level)+1, and since we are starting at level 1, we all gain 5.

Re: Questions For The GM
First thing I want to say, I'm going to be throwing up a Weaving thread alongside the Feats thread for... uh, obvious reasons. Just an FYI. Now, to answer your question.Sethos wrote:What if I were to weave a book that took anything that was written in it and translated it into common?
The way this would work is you would essentially be increasing the difficulty of said book with each additional language it understood, and you yourself would have to know those languages to have them translated into Common. There are some alternate ways to go about this but the theory is sound.
Weaving a robe with a magical or dodge AC bonus is going to be a higher difficulty thing (most flat stat-change items are, for balance purposes) but it is entirely feasible and a reasonable thing to want. This would be true for a DEX bonus as well.Caladrius wrote:Given my characters staring point, I can think of two things that should be crafter.

Same basic deal with the weapon. Also, as a general rule all weapon Weaves are a step harder than armor Weaves (which are a step harder than common/utility/mundane Weaves). Thus a weapon with a stat bonus would be, categorically, the hardest thing to Weave BUT... still feasible and still possible. As for a weapon that shifts... possible, but I question the purpose of it? The only benefit I can think from a stat perspective is switching damage types from bludgeon to slashing (though from a flavor perspective I admit that sounds cool).

Hey, I've got an aspect who's eyes I can see through up to 100 feet away. I'm taking advantage of it.

Most of the buildings are small to medium sized buildings made of smooth stone and clay (to resist desert winds), with rounded rooftops, clumped very closely together (in some places you could literally just step from one roof to another). It is not very tall (the tallest building is probably only 3 stories tall) but it is rather spread out.

In that case, once we get searching, I'll be having Dara keep an eye on our group from the rooftops, just in case.
