Snarg:
The prisoner blinks wearily, and squints and groans from pain before looking up at you. He looks around, frowns, and then returns his gaze to you, a strange expression on his face.

Snarg hunches over him, looking him squarely in the face with a grim expression. "Do you know where you are?"

"...What if it does something to those who wear it? Maybe..."

Zeiss thinks of one possibility, but ignores it immediately. He doesn't want it to be true, and he has nothing to prove it. But he will keep that in mind. Then he sees the prisoner wake up.

"well based on what the elf said back in the war room and what we have seen now ied say they weren't acting of there own accord"

Rory starts going around hacking off fingers with rings and putting them in a bag.

Snarg's Prisoner:
The Elf looks up at the Gnoll. "I'll assume I'm in this stupid frelling town."

"Yep. Do you know why you're in this stupid frelling town?"

Snarg's Prisoner:
"Why's? Ya mean why I came here in the first place?" He twitched his head to the side. "Or why I had to stays here? Or maybe ya meanin' why I stills here now, with your furry face starins at meh?"

"Maybe we should cut off his fingers, one at a time."

Zeiss looks at the prisoner with disinterest.

Snarg smirks at the prisoner. "Don't get smart with me. Why were you here in the first place doing doing suicide runs on the town? Doesn't seem like something that'd be that smart to do."

"Why don't you please tell us all of it, since you're full of suggestions," Rory added in a raised voice from a sitting position on the ground.

"Suicide?" The Elf twitches his head again. "We woulda had the targets if not for three doses o' luck on the part of you yuckels. Woulda had you just now if you lot hadn't shown." You notice his jaw is starting to move oddly. "Don't matter none, couldn't go home failures nothin', but this point they's know we faileds. Nothin' matters now."

"Let's cut the finger where his ring is, right now. It may kill him to prevent us from questioning him."

tab pulls the prisoners arm out and pins it to the ground.

"Rory take his fingers please?"

Snarg grabs his jaw and forces it open. "Don't be doing that now," he says as he checks his open mouth, "who's going to know you've failed? May be able to help you out there if you'll tell us who."

Rory shoots Tabran a quizzical look, and stays where he is. "A bit early for that, don't you think? Be patient, let him talk. I'll let you know when he starts holding out on us."

"fine?"

tab quickly takes out a knife and removes the ring finger.

Zeiss looks at Rory and Snarg.

"I am more worried that the ring was made to kill its wearer. Cut his finger, just in case."

There is urgency in his voice.

"Help me?" The man gives another jerk of his head, more violently, and he looks honestly amused. "You can't stop the Vyeotians. No one can." He says the last not with pride or defiance, but with a tone of dread and defeat.

A few seconds later there is a very high pitched whine emitting from his ring.

Zeiss takes out one of his dagger.

"Tabran, hold his hand for me. Now!"

He prepares himself to cut his finger as fast as possible.

Rory gets up and puts himself between Tabran and the captive. "You put that knife away. You don't know what you're doing, and I don't have to tell you what I'll do if you don't."

You are literally in the middle of desperately cutting off the finger, and yank it away, flinging it across the room. But, somehow, it is too late. There is a massive jolt of strange, electrical energy across the Elf's features and he lays there, motionless.

Zeiss leaves the body alone, clearly unhappy.

"He's dead. I told you, we should have cut off his finger."

He sheathes his dagger.

"Do you have any other prisoner?"

"Vyeotians?!? Wha-who?!?" Snarg jumps out of the way of the whining ring. "Get that ring off the other one - hurry!"
