February 15th: Assault on Janwall

"great he's dead Rory next time i tell you to do somthing do it if you had he would still be alive."

"So you have another prisoner..."

Zeiss looks at him to see if he is dead. Then takes his dagger out of its sheath, again.

Glaring, Rory is about to say something. His jaw snaps shut, but his expression doesn't change as he goes up to the sleeping prisoner. He holds his hand out and hacks off the finger with the ring on it as quickly as possible.

As you go and remove the ring from the other prisoner, you frown as you realize, after a few seconds, he is not breathing. A quick check confirms that he is, in fact, already dead.

Zeiss looks at the dead man, then realizes something.

"A signal must have been sent at all the rings at the same time..."

He kicks a rock on the ground.

Rory faces Tabran, taking the opportunity that had come sooner than expected to deal with it. "Strong words coming from a member of a slave race," he sneers mirthlessly.

"well thats ticks me off lets head back i want to check over the rest of the people that are at the war room im guessing the other prisoners are dead but we should keep an eye out for more of theres rings.

we server we are not slaves and what would you know of it from what i hear your island as been cut off for forever that cant be good for the gene pool?"

Tab walks off.

Tab walks off.

"You wanna follow that up with something other than words?" After getting no response, Rory picks up the head that Ashakel had severed earlier and chucks it at Tabran's back as hard as he can.

"do you really want to be picking a fight Rory we have so meny other people trying to kill us are you really that dumb?"

Zeiss looks confused at the scene that just happened before him. Preferring to ignore it, he says :

"I will go check the warehouses for anything that may help us heal the injured."

"I don't see anyone else around. After everything you just said? It was poor thinking on your part to say what you said in your condition. Are you going to turn around, or do I still have to make you notice me?"

tab walks off

Snarg pounds his fist on the ground and snarls at the quarrelling couple: "I swear, the first one of you who makes a move will get a sword in his gut! One of you go somewhere else before I carry you off."

Zeiss found nothing in his search for healing kits. Hoping Gwydo, Sethos and Snarg would be enough, he decides to go back where they met Trenaran.

Rory kicks the head as it comes rolling back. He watches with meager satisfaction as Tabran walks away. "Later then," he mumbles. "You all insist on ordering me around, but not a goddamn one of you has any idea."

The lot of you return to the war room to find Trenaran listening to reports from what looks like about 5 'scouts', aka merchants who have sharp eyes. Your two prisoners are still here, tied up in the corner, not really doing much and staring at the floor. They are still alive, though.

"well i want expecting that"

tab gose over and checks there fingers for rings.

The two prisoners, of course, have rings. They don't even bother looking up at you as you inspect them though.

"I am sorry, but we will take them out of here right now..."

With the help of someone else, Zeiss takes the prisoners outside in a hurry, and plans to cut the finger the ring is on as soon as they are outside.

tab trys a ring to see if it can be removed?

The prisoner blinks blearily at you. "Oh, trying to remove the rings? Don't bother... that's not what does it. It's inside," he taps his chest.

Zeiss stops in his movements.

"...Then what does the rings do?"

"ok so why are you still alive then?"

The Elf gives an almost morbid grin. "Cuz we ain't told nothin' yet. Til now of course. They monitor us, make sure we's loyal or successful. Not like folks like us got anythin' to lose... former bandits, pirates, IGA thugs, they recruited from all over. Gave us training, equipment. Then we spread, like dandelion seeds, across the whole continent, in every tiny nook and crevice of da world." He gives a sick laugh, and you can see he's beginning to jerk and shake like the other prisoner. "Was nice, bein' on top for a while. But then these sods got lucky, pulled half our agents from the whole province to finish these pleks off. See what it got us. Ah well."

"ok you got nothing to lose who do you work for? and were can we find them"
