Third Adventure 02: Golem and Crystal

Snarg brings his greatsword in a readied position and follows near the front, tracing the blood trail with his eyes as they proceed on. "Iwf twhat wwater bwe cwomin' agaiwn, swee iwf ya goet wet it pasf, hm?

As the group carefully moves forward, the glow from the water abruptly goes out entirely, plunging the room into darkness and stark shadows from the torches and lanterns. Before anyone can react, Sethos gives a loud yelp from behind the group, whirling to find a water globule there with its 'arms' attached to the Burun, draining him of Mana. (Sethos loses 2 Mana)

*combat begins, players' turn*

*kezrin dashes back slashing at the glob's 'arms' with her hind claws. scaring the burun half to death as two razor sharp claws slash past his ears on either side of his head. Her reach is such that she clearly won't hit him, but....*

Kolson draws his sword again and attempts to hit the water without hurting Sethos.

Rory darts to the rear of the group and grabs the frog around the middle, attempting to break the magic water's grapple.

"KALPTHGH!" Snarg spits out the torch in the direction of the globule and charges, bringing his sword around to slice the water apart from Sethos.

Zeiss was ready to attack that thing if the others failed. But he would have to be very careful to not hurt Sethos.

Sethos' face is clenched in a tight grimace as he feels his mana being drained. He opens his eyes to stare at the mass, all sounds blanked out like distant echoes, the feeling in his upper body numbed to the point that he doesn't feel Rory pulling on him.
"Let me go" He whispers to the water between clenched teeth before letting out a harsh cry.

Kolson manages to slice Sethos by accident, dealing 6 damage.
Kezrinthka jabs the water once, barely avoiding hitting Sethos.
Snarg charges right into the water, hitting it with sufficient force that it shimmers once powerfully before falling into a puddle of water.

*combat over*

"No more light... so no more water attacking us I guess."

He sighed.

"Let's heal him before we continue."

*kezrinthka moves back to the middle of the group pulling kolson sethos and caladrius with her.*

Snarg sniffs the water briefly before picking up the torch from the ground and planting it in his mouth again.

The water left behind as each globule dies remains, but as they are moving there are no trails of water, humidity, or cold.

Sethos falls to the floor, profusely thanking everybody for their help as Kez drags him to the middle of the group. He pulls out some medical doo-dads and does his best to patch up the damage left from the attack, before wiping his brow and continuing on with the group.

Kez was taking the mages in the middle of the group. It was a good idea.

"We should move forward. And fast."

He walked into the room with the blood.

The smell hits Zeiss the moment he enters the room and he barely keeps himself from doubling over and vomitting on the spot. The room was probably a rest area at some point as there are cots and chairs strewn about, as well as three quite-rotting corpses that have been dead for at least a few days. One Lugian, and two Banderlings.

Caladirus smugly says "what a wonderful new smell you found Zeiss" Caladirus goes over to check the bodies for something useful

"Oh really? You like what you see? Maybe we could cook it."

Zeiss did not want to stay there. He went to the bodies and searched them for anything of value. And the cause of death.

*kezrin gathering up her wits and suppressing her horror at the corpses walks closer to them attempting to discover how and when they had died*

Snarg closes one eye and wrinkles his nose as he watches from outside the door. Shifting his greatsword to one hand, he spits the torch in to the other. "I guess we're knowin' 'bout some of 'em now; still more to find."

The Lugian is carrying several pieces of gear, having most likely been a fighter or paladin in his life. Both he and the two Banderlings, who are in common worker's outfits with nothing of value on them whatsoever, look like they were bludgeoned to death. The Lugian also looks like he has been magically drained.

"The Moarsmen aren't here," Rory adds. "They must have dragged their friends here and tried again. Probably dead in the same room as the golem."

*turning back to the group barely swallowing the bile in her throat (that is assuming that olthoi can get sick and vomit...) she says*

"I believe we have found our adventures. The Lugian seems to have met with the same water blobs we did, but that's not what killed him. All three were bludgeoned to death. I think its fairly safe to assume that the golem is beating its victims to death and doesn't have any magical capabilities... at least not offensive ones."

"We ain't goin' that way. If he ain't got nothin' to help, let's get goin' yeah?"

"Yeah... let's go into the most creepy room with the big stairway... I'll go first. Like always."
