Third Adventure 02: Golem and Crystal

Rory bends down near the corpse of a Banderling, frisking it for gear. Dissatisfied, he gets back up and leans against a wall, hands empty.

The room with the staircase is rather large and somewhat unappointed. The massive doors directly ahead are currently closed, and due to their massive size it's unlikely you could open them by simple physical strength. However, there are several Pyreal panels built into a nearby wall that probably help with the situation.

" i believe his mana was drained by the water globs we saw earlier. Their purpose appears to be to weaken anyone coming against the golem. They drained Sethos' mana."

Panels. That could certainly open this door. Maybe he could open it.

"Ey, any of ya know those?" Snarg says, pointing at the panels with his torch.

The panel lights up with blue runes in several languages, including Common and Orcish, when you touch it. It indicates that Lock Down status has been temporarily suspended and has an option to open the door. Similarly, it indicates that power reserves within the facility are at peak high and the current Water Elemental flow is over 100% efficiency at the moment.

*turning from the pannel*

"something has turned off lockdown. These panels shouldn't be able to be opened. And those water trails... they are running at over peak efficiency. I'm wondering if someone is manipulating things behind the scene here and using the golem as cover up."

"...Hey, people. I'm not sure we want to fight what's behind that door."

"That would explain why no one has completed this Bill yet. We did run into a cabal of mages doing elemental experiments. Could they be involved somehow?"

"Does it matter? We've been set up, again. Let's find the ones responsible and make them talk."

"Being set up..."

That was ridiculous. For what purpose? He couldn't think of one. He didn't have enough information to theorize any plan. Then, he remembered something.

"Didn't we learn that the thing we fought in that cavern was probably created near the spacial temple?"

*after the group moves back up the stairs. Kezrin turns to the panel pressing the sequence to open the door. taking a deep shuddering breath she tenses her legs to dash full speed back up the stairs as she presses the final button.*

"Here goes nothing..."

*press and dash*

With startling speed the massive doors shoot open in less than a second, startling the hell out of everyone present.

The room beyond is very dark, and very large. There are no sounds coming from it at the moment, but it looks like the aquaducts of water are present in there as well, but non-glowing as the rest are at the moment.

Zeiss was standing beside Xan when she pressed the button.

"What...!?"

He ran towards the door he came through.

Caladrius "lets hope the door can close just as quickly just in case"

He ran for nothing. But he couldn't take any chances.

"So, who's going first...?"

And, nothing was there. "There's nothing there, ha!"

With a sigh of relief he continues on with the others through the door.

*kez startled by the quickness of the door and the elf suddenly standing beside her only makes it half a step before ceasing movement. she turns around and peers through the doorway*

"You are," Rory answered bluntly. "Nice and quiet."

"Nice and quiet... huh... I remember Tabran telling us it didn't matter if I was nice and quiet."

He looked at Gwydo.

"You're coming with me."

And Hanuel.

"You too. I do not have your kind of eyes."

Zeiss, Gwydo, and Hanuel cautiously make their way into the large room. It has several Pyreal devices built into the ceiling and walls, most likely monitoring and regulating equipment of some sort. It is likely this is the room where the Heart is constructed, and the Golem's 'body' affixed to it.

There are aquaducts of water running along the edges of 3 of the sides of the room, not counting the wall with the door upon it.

There is a fairly bad smell coming from further in the room. Hanuel can make out some markings on one of the walls, and points them out to the other two.

He turned to the others who stayed behind.

"There's no golem. You can come."

He wanted to look at those marks Hanuel pointed at. And the dead bodies they were bound to find.

Hearing someone, likely Zeiss, calling for light, Kolson moves forward and is immediately assaulted by the smell. "Wonderful. You guys found a sty. What is that?"

He holds his free hand over his nose.
