Re: OOC Thread for Dungeoneering
If by 'Mage on the left' you mean 'Mage and/or Archers on the right', then yes.
The mage on the left is very low priority right now, and we gain the most 'conquering' the right side ASAP.
Edit: If the logic behind my assertion isn't clear, this: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Defeat_in_detail
Edit 2: I sometimes wish I had a white board we could use and easily go over ideas like these. Oh well.

Mage on the right. Or archer. Whichever's closer. They'll have to leave the Haze. Actually, the mages are the ones who stand a competent chance of beating the will save. From sheer confusion, they may take 2 rounds to move, which will be bully for you.
I would also hope that beginning an attack outside the Haze doesn't prevent or botch it automatically if you fail once you've carried that attack into the Haze.
Also, the leaping charge I mentioned...may not be possible. It requires room to move from where you are on the second floor to run straight through a window on the side you're jumping off of. You may be climbing into someone's room, or into a hallway. A horizontal hallway would be fortuitous.
In any case, I am ready.

I am ready.
Btw if things go well this turn, I could have Javan use his tower shield to form a ramp for Rory instead of Jumping, give him a boost to get to the right side if needed.

If anyone has time to be on at the same time I'm poking at something that I'd like to test.

I'm logged in now. What am I supposed to do? Am I not supposed to be able to name my character when I join? Cuz I can't change "new character" to something else.

Me and Javan poked at it for a while. Ultimately neat but very limiting, don't think I'll try to use it.

So it would seem we're at the juncture where we must decide whether to press the attack or bail.
As i understand it, the enemy group seems to be wanting to bug-out, and i am inclined to hold action and see what they do. Thoughts?

Thank god Javan's confusion tactics worked to our favor...
Yeah, if they bail Javan is not pursuing them. The poor fairy would end up hating himself if he killed someone and had no way to save them while aligned with the Life element.

As a free action, they've decided to bail. Time for us to scatter.
Shall we meet up a the manor and storm the castle? I vote yes.

I vote we scatter and regroup, but our efforts are now compromised. Probably by the Raiders. We may have to think this over once we do.

Re: OOC Thread for Dungeoneering
You know... We have just established our combat superiority around here and we are sure everyone around the city will know about the little scene we caused around here. We are not an unknown quantity to these people anymore.
In usual Javan-style confusion tactics, we could attempt to knock at the guy's door as a direct attempt to talk face-to-face now, and we might just get taken seriously and get something out of it.
Just throwing an idea out there.

Re: OOC Thread for Dungeoneering
That's asking for trouble.
I'm Fatigued once my Rage is over. Which means I won't be able to run. Javan's at 3 MP. Higaide is...completely fine. Javan, we're going back to the market to get you a two-handed spear. Even iron would be fine.
I'm delivering a note with a sternly warning to the Naverre Raiders' doorstep, and then I'm taking an 8-hour rest at the inn. I suggest the rest of you join me.

Re: OOC Thread for Dungeoneering
What? Why would Javan want to have another two-handed spear? If you mean the two-handed sword, I would rather not for RP reasons. While we as players know that Javan has a level in the Green Aberrant class, Javan, Rory and Higaide don't have a clue about what's going on with him and nowhere to look for information because of how rare the situation Javan is in.
If there was a dire need for the desperation move to be unleashed, I would have worked it on as the Facet making Javan feel like he's holding the 'wrong tool', then would have caught a glimpse of Rory's two-handed sword and have this very real impression that it was the 'right one', and ask for it.
But yeah, whatever we decided to do after this, I thought resting was so matter-of-fact that I didn't even consider talking about it.

Re: OOC Thread for Dungeoneering
Right, my bad, I keep forgetting.
...............Well gee, guess I better start using my sword. It's not two-handed, but I do often hold it in two hands. Is this really necessary, Arch?
It is decided. We're going back to the inn and resting.

No, specifically the restriction.

Re: OOC Thread for Dungeoneering
Actually, the one that came up with the restrictions and stuff was me, as I had Arch's Green Mage. It's not specific to two-handed swords either, so Rory doesn't need to be the 'catalyst' if you don't want to be swinging your sword around. It's just that Life Facet have the two-handed sword as their favored weapon because it's the Green Aspect's favored weapon (and also Saix), is all.
I wouldn't want to change a bit how Javan and the whole facet thing works anyways. I mean, you have no idea how awesome it was when I decided to bring out the biggest gun in my arsenal (Life Facet) and then it dawned on me that Javan's current mental state (KILL THEM ALL MRGHLGHRGLHRL!!!) and the forced elemental change from the Facet would be at odds. That's something I and Javan didn't have to deal on the first time he summoned a Facet because it was Light, and Light is all about 'JUST DO IT', so it was so in sync it was a no-brainer. I'm telling ya, it's the small details, the descriptions and restrictions.
Anyways, grab your pajamas boys, time for sleep.

Re: OOC Thread for Dungeoneering
Do you understand my complaint though? We might have needed you to use that ability, and you can't use it because there is no way for your character to ever know unless he sees that makes a discovery click inside his head. Could be today, could be tomorrow, could be too little too late.
Next fight, I'm using my sword, because we are making this happen. I will not let this incredibly useful ability that you meet the requirements to use simply lie dormant but for a fluke.

So... we bail or what? I'm about to write that Higaide holds his action until the situation develops or the party starts withdrawing.
Good?

Re: OOC Thread for Dungeoneering
Rory, my brain just went 'what's he think he's doing, telling me how to play my character' and I'm glad I caught myself so I can at least type this properly.
No Rory, we are not 'doing this thing'. Please don't push it. I just told you how much fun I was having with the whole process and how it was something that was beyond math and numbers and power and then you basically go 'SCREW THAT, MORE POWER!'. I know it's not the intention and I know from where it comes from, but that's how it sounds and I don't like it, because that's not why I play RPGs in the first place.
Not to mention you swinging your sword for the next week won't have an effect on it anyways, Life Facet is on cooldown because of the emergency summon.

Okay...I understand roleplay is a factor. But if we ever really need it, please don't hold back for something so silly.

Re: OOC Thread for Dungeoneering
... Really Rory? "Something so silly"? I just explained twice how important to me that is to the fun factor I get out of the games I play and twice you attempt to undermine what I just said with your comment. On purpose or not, that's really 'not cool' to put it mildly, <insert pointed expletive here> to say what I'm really thinking.
You know what, I am clearly more angry than I should be at this bs so I'm just going to shut up and relax for the rest of today.
