A level 3 character who is 1Rogue 2Black Mage would have a Spell Level of 2.

And another question: Herbs. Restore hp, cure poisons or natural negative status effects, or just relaxing/therapeutic? Can they be brewed or mixed into potions via alchemy?

There are herbs that exist that can do actual alchemical effects, but they are few and far between and quite rare. Most herbs are just... herbs.

Note for the GM: Rory's got a birth date now, just so you're informed. You'll see it in the google document "Rory's Family", which I believe you still have access to, next to his entry in the list of siblings.

Ekai's birth date and age information is further explained in his character sheet, below the space where I wrote his description, where I give two different "celebration dates", one of the two being more accurate. The date he actually does celebrate in lore will depend on whether or not you allow Yellow Mages or Weavers to be able to determine the age of an organic being magically, whether roughly from a year to a month or down to the exact day.

Actually I forgot to include the extra day during Earth calendar leap years, so I decided to include years as part of the dates as well, obviously 438 days between birthdays on the Earth calendar would cause some birthdays to skip over a year. The dates should be 100% accurate now. As I discovered and pointed out in the Medaira thread, the ratio of hours-to-days of Sur'Kesh's 1.2 Earth year rotation is off by 73 days, so every 73rd Salarian year is a leap year. Just to mix things up, I'm gonna say Ekai was born just a couple years before a Salarian leap year.

You can be whatever race you want(with exceptions), anywhere from the Mass Effect universe to the Ivalice setting, and they can either be born on Medaira or brought. "Brought" means they suddenly appeared on the Pillar and have no memory of their past lives before they got there. You don't have to change your profile character sheet to match the stats of your new character if you don't want to, like Third did. That's more for what you feel comfortable with.

One important detail: By the time the campaign starts, the group has already worked with everyone else on at least one quest before the first of the campaign--which we've already completed the meat of at this point.

Bottom line: After a period of sufficient inactivity, if I'm logging into an online service with my own account on my Steam-registered computer, the program shouldn't start going third degree on me.

While we are in Holtburg, could I buy a shortbow for Zeiss? With possibly a +2 bonus on damage rolls, if it is even possible on ranged weapons? Since, you know, a shortbow made of iron sounds strange... I thought I should ask. -_-

In fact, to anyone who is more experimented in D&D than I am, could you tell me what ranged weapon is the best for my little rogue?

A bow of any type would be just fine for a rogue since it uses dex, which you should have plenty of.
