First Adventure 05: Licking Wounds Amongst Party & Allies

As you maneuver through what was once a well built, if primitive, facility you can see signs of the damage everywhere. Walls cracked, entire rooms blocked off by fall-ins and rubble, and in many places Kobolds lying upon the floor having their wounds tended. It occurs to you that all this was done with only a small handful of earthquake attacks by the Centaur.

After a few minutes of careful traveling you find a large storage area where Gnawbone is presently straining to hold up what looks like an entire quarter of the room, as Slivina is periodically casting what look like Yellow spells upon Kobold and Gnoll alike as they hurry to get all the victims who had been caught beneath.

"Hold on, Gnoll!" Tries to assist the Gnoll in holding the rocks.

"What can we do?"

Rellan closes his eyes, drained of mana and still shaking from the initial rush from the Leyslice. He starts to patch his wounds, but realizes the others are moving on. How long had he been out....this time? Seeing the others down the steps, Rellan carefully makes his way down to join the party.

If they were heading back to either the Kobolds or Gnolls it might help if he were there to translate.

"Talk to them and get medical aid". he gestures towards Gnawbone and the Matriarch while walking towards the debris. He drops his shield to the floor and begins moving rocks to free anyone trapped.

"Oh gods..." Rory utters with faltering breath. It was chaos. "Mistress," he hoarsely addresses the Kobold matriarch, "is there anything we can do to help?"

Caladrius "Quick, we need to recuse them before the ceiling falls and crushes them all!"

Caladris rushes in to pull of victims and looks for the Matriarch in the process.

"If you are not speaking then you should be over here assisting us. Talking, I hope, should only take one of you."

At Whis Kor's words, Rory regains himself and goes to a rock pile nearest to the matriarch and begins trying to pry victims from the rubble.

The remainder of the recovery attempt takes several minutes, during which you do manage to extract multiple injured Kobolds and, thanks to the assistance it looks like none of these were beyond care as the Kobolds on hand immediately apply bandages and what few Healing Kits they have remaining.

Gnawbone lets the rubble collapse, after the party members assisting move out of the way of course, and the Matriarch rests upon the wall, clearly weary.

"What can we do?"

Caladrius to the Matriarch “We are sorry for the trouble we caused you and your people. When we left we were ambushed my a heard of Centaurs, one of them was responsible for the earthquakes which injured so many! He will not be an issue any longer”

Whis Kor sits down heavily and catches his breath for a moment. He gestures for one of the Kobolds or Gnolls treating the injured.

"Get... Get some aid for my company, please..." He points at the others in his group.

The Matriarch smiles wearily. "Then we are in your debt, friends." She gestures and says a few quick words, and within seconds several of the Kobolds go running off. "Though the type of magic that can cause this sort of damage so easily is unfamiliar to me... I fear we were targeted as much as you were." She wipes her brow, and as she continues several other Kobolds come into the room with Healing Kits and begin tending the wounded party members. "We can do what we can to dull the pain and mend your wounds, but I fear we truly cannot stay here anymore."

Rory is again dejected by the matriarch's words, but continues to search for the nearest victim whose wounds he can heal with his level of expertise.

"Mmm, targeted. Who wants you dead, may I ask?"

Raver frowns, something hits him deeply as he stood to listen the Matriarch.

"do you know of the centaurs we fought?"

"We have reason to think it wasn't Oakheart who caused this. Those troops had to have been far above his pay grade. Can you think of anyone else who would want to harm you?"

She shrugs at the Sclavi. "Your guess would be as good as mine. We have remained isolated for years upon years, until just about a month ago."

"A month ago?"

At Higaide's words, Rory turns toward him. "Know anything about that?" he asked.

The expert hands of the Kobold healers, Kits in hand, seem to be doing a fair job but you do notice one of said healers is sporting a nasty wound on his arm. Examining it carefully you determine the Kobold's arm is broken, and he has simply been ignoring it for the immediacy.

Caladrius say to the Matriarch "Thank you for healing us, We will do everything in our power to make this right, and bring the masterminds to justice. No peoples should ever be treated as poorly as your people have been"
